Mobo problems
0
Kay, I recently bought a asus maximus 3 gene mobo. Everything runs fine except for the audio. I only get audio from 1 jack at a time and have a 5.1 surround sound plugged in. So I only ever get the side, center+bass or the front at any given time. I've tried emailing asus, no reply. Tried their forums, complete b.s. 'cause no one is ever on. It wouldn't really bug me except im a huge gamer and i watch alot of anime/movies on my pc. I have the newest bios drivers and updates for everything. The mobo has a built-in creative x-fi mb sound card, I honestly think thats the problem... but not too sure. any idea guys?

Im pretty sure I read somewhere that you have to activate the sound card driver with creative to get it to work. I know of an intel board (the DX58SO) that requires you to do this. The most I can think of is to follow the instructions from the manual. On page 4-8 follow the directions there. It looks like the driver install package does everything needed. You may need to download a newer version of the driver. Go here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us and select your board from the drop down menus. Then go to the Utilities section and download the soundblaster utility(its about half way down the list). Apart from a problem with the board itself this should fix it.
