Waar, did you know that FBI crime statistics indicate that rifles make-up less than 3% of gun crime? and an even smaller percent are 'Assault Weapons'? And that the Clinton AWB, as concluded by both the FBI and CDC, made an impact of approximately 1% in crime committed with 'assault weapons'?
You say that the 2nd amendment was written in a time when the worst gun was a single-shot, muzzle-loaded pistol. Well, by far the majority of murders are committed with just one round (actually, one round from a muzzle-loader is much more likely to kill just because of it's size and hydrostatic shock/remote wounding). High-capacity magazines and semi-automatic actions are very rarely actually used by criminals despite the hype.

p.s. Americans need to learn how to signal, most of you are terrible drivers.
This, my friend, is something I agree 100% with.

Then you'd only have to worry about LQ wondering why there is a girl traveling with you. Potentially much scarier...If Waar had driven up with a girl in the passenger seat, I would be the one with the gun.

3% of gun deaths is still more than the combined gun deaths of then entire British Commonwealth, or 3/4 of the countries in Europe. America stands alone a top the leader board for gun related crimes and it's mostly due to your 2nd amendment. The statistics still show you kill too many of your own citizens with firearms. Until you can reach less radical numbers on a consistent basis then your rights cost the lives of thousands of your citizens.

or if that is too complex for the average visitor, here's a dumbed down version of the same.
Also, the 2nd amendment constitutes only a minor part of the problem - it's mainly a question of public infrastructure and the long tail that it drags behind. And custom. Can't forget custom!
