[Locked] MOTEMOTE Group 1 Reveal!

So we decided to do things a little differently than what we said last week. This years MOTEMOTE battle will consist of three groups of 16 characters, and the bracket above is Group 1. We selected characters exclusively from the last 4 airing anime seasons in Japan (with one or two exceptions). The reasoning behind this is that since we do this once a year, we want to have new participants each time and thus will always select from the latest seasons of anime.

Each of the three groups will have one winner, and the final battle will be a three way between the winners of each group. Tomorrow we will release the 2nd and 3rd groups and you will most likely be able to create your user brackets for the contest. You will only have 4 or 5 days to create your bracket before the contest starts, so make sure you check back frequently.

And in preparation for the battle starting on December 1st we have created a forum dedicated to MOTEMOTE 2008 discussion.

Good looking list, though I only know six of the sixteen contestants. That's what I get for not watching a lot of current anime though.

I'm excited about the next two brackets. :D

We are going to do things a little differently this year, there are going to be two character brackets, one from "new school" anime and one from "old school" anime. The new bracket will run from December 1st-31st with 32 characters, and the old bracket will run from January 1st-31st with another 32 characters. Each battle will last 24 hours.

If you participated last year you will remember that you can create your own brackets for who you think will win the competition, the same goes for this year and the top highest ranked users will receive prizes. However, there will be one requirement on users before you can make brackets, you must register an account by November 24th. That is only a week away, so if any of you lurkers want to participate, now is the time to register.

Well it gave a general idea of the event but there are still some parts I dont quite get. Guess I'll just have to wait for the results.
