Motivation
What motivates you?

So Fakku. Most recently, (2 months ago), I got injured during wrestling, dislocated my shoulder and somehow acquired a pinch nerve there. Pretty much since then I've given up dieting, working out etc. due to the injury and school work.
But nowadays after deciding I don't need calculus in my life, I have time. I've decided that I should start working out again. Even though I can't really lift my left arm above my shoulder without pain (Wrestling injury)
The problem is...I'm not motivated to work out anymore. I use to workout and train for the various sports I played. Basketball, BJJ, Wrestling, Tennis, Badminton, Cross country. Now that I'm at the end of my high school career, I don't think I will participating competitively with my injury. I have no motivation to work out anymore, I don't feel like going out and sweating like I use to.
So, my question is what motivates you to work out/exercise?

It's either Health or Enjoyment for me. Seeing how healthy my parents till now must have been my motivation. Enjoying exercise with friends is a reason too.

for me, I do Judo, and its more like a technical martial art, so it does not require a huge amount of strength (even when I'm quite strong).
the thing is that i enjoy most of the time in training... i don't care about looks or stuff like that

"I'm a boob man"
I hear you. After playing baseball, basketball, rugby, cross country, and track and field, both of my knees are pretty much shot. I usually tell myself that working out and keeping my health up, as one of my motivators. Also having that 6 pack abs back doesn't hurt either.

I'm a little special in this case maybe...
I get my motivation from wanting to test my limits and so I can in a distant future show everyone that I'm the best of the best in what I do, and I get a kick everytime I see that I have improved even if I just for example runned 5km 5 seconds faster... always moving forward, I wish I could do that...

@Jmac - My 6 pack is long gone after I gained 20lbs in the past few months, I can barely see 4 now )=. I played basketball recently, when I jumped my abs felt like it was stretching probably from the lack of use and stretching. Hung on the rim too and strained my forearm muscle. Not to mention I've always had a case of jumper's knee from doing plyometrics, knees have never been healthy, basketball doesn't help.
I am so out of shape and so unmotivated. I'm planning on getting my ass to work this weekend but motivation is the only problem. There's no sport that makes me want to go train for..especially since the level of basketball is at a higher level and more competitive at the university level now, I'd probably be a red shirt even if I trained since I wasn't scouted. I'm not really talking to any girls right now so to hell with my looks, and I never really cared for my health as long as I could move.

Grade school thru High, I participated in soccer, basketball and baseball. The summer before my junior year in HS; I started learning rugby. I have been playing rugby for 18 years. In college, I took judo as a PE course (it was mandatory to have four electives for PE). Judo, heavyweight division, help me develop more flexibility and the ability to absorb punishment.
I never had 6 pack abs but I am working to lose more weight thru rugby, swimming and circuit training.
