My Applocale isn't working..

Well I just recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 and I've been using XP for pretty much my whole life so I'm pretty new to this thing. After a couple of downloads here and there I got around to download Microsoft Applocale for my visual novels and such. After installing I tried using it on many different types of files which I knew worked before during my XP years but now doesn't with Applocale is something wrong with it?

What version is your applocale? It may not be compatible with 7.
Or better, just change your unicode to japanese, and you won't even need applocale anymore.

If your running Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise (think basic may have it too) just change the regional settings like the above poster said. Here is a tutorial I made for it:
