I must say I've never tried to draw a naked person before. So don't expect any hentai. These are just pieces I've done over the years. It's a hobby, I don't want anything to do with art in my future, just eh. Sometimes it passes the time.
Please keep in mind these drawings in the first post range from when I was a freshman in high school to 18 - I'm 23 (as of 2013) now.

*freaks out* Arrrgh. Fucking imageshack, what does it do that on this site?
*Grumbles about having to fix all of them*
Sigh, now all the sizes are messed up. Oh well, at least they're visible even if you need to take a magnifying glass to it.

Very nice. I like your style. That Venom kicks ass, always been one of my fav marvel characters. *Bangs head on table* I guess this means I'll really have to get a scanner now, show off my art too.

Venom is so awesome! Nice picture, I like it a lot. If it's not too much to ask, would you be able to do a Carnage one? Carnage rules.

You have that more traditional style which I prefer more than the modern styled drawing. *ooo this place is so much better than some of the other forums I go to, much more people interested in sketching and CGing ^^

Awesome!
I'm loving the hand sketches. Very, very nice. Keep practicing those because a lot of people I know always complain about how they suck at drawing hands. xD
You'll get good at drawing people eventually. Just keep eye-balling everything you see. Study and draw a lot of real people too, as in realism. That helps a lot for especially when you go to draw in the anime style.

Thanks, for everybody commenting
By the way guys, that iris flower (the first picture) I drew, it was based off of that Samurai X movie. Trust
They say at one point one of the innkeepers tell Tomoe that she's like an Iris, one whose beauty shines more on a rainy day then a sunny day. So I wanted to try and capture the Iris's beauty in the rain. That was just a rough draft, I was trying to figure out how I wanted to do it. I just used colored pencils and a sharpy for the rain. and granite for the background, the way I shaded the background gave effect of rain pouring too, so I didn't have to draw that many lines for rain, just a few. The sharpy was supposed to outline the water on the iris and the water was supposed to give the iris it's shape.

So since I had requested help with a drawing, I decided to update this a bit, in the spoiler is what I posted before.
I've kinda gotten out of drawing. I've been sorta discouraged in doing so because of other people. I don't feel like it's a real gift, because I can only draw what I see and make minor changes. I can't transform something to make my own creation.
I've also been getting worse at drawing people, and I think it's because my interest falls. I've done like 2 though, but I'm not bothering posting the other one because it's just baad.
But here's what I have done, and didn't finish of course. I've lost most of my good pencils for shading and stuff, so I get tired of things looking bad shaded and don't finish it.

Anyway, as you can probably tell in my artwork, I think I have more fun with drawing things like venom (I had so much fun drawing that) and my other favorites are the fish and flowers. They aren't so much 'anime' well... venom is animation, but eh.
I was reading different art threads and I do have an artist who is my idle. My ex bought me his complete prints one year, I should study it more. I even have a piece of his artwork as a wall scroll.
He's done artwork for Final Fantasy (I didn't even know that until I got the book.) I fell in love with him from Vampire Hunter D : Bloodlust
He's different though, he's not your typical anime artist.
Amano Yoshitaka
If you want to look at his work some more, here:
Amano's work
I envy him because he's able to do so much with his art, and not just one medium.
Basically I remember drawing as more of an escape from things. When I draw everything around me disappears, and I can relax and just draw. I thought I could use a bit of me time and touch up on some things, I do afterall have a whole book of his works in my room I can look at and practice. Not that it makes me any better with my imagination.
Amano has no sense of real body proportions though, I think that's why I'm drawn to it. I think I have more of an eye for art then I do for a knack at art. I'm decent at copying things, but I can't create things.
*Edit*
Here's another piece from artclass that I did a few years ago. It's kinda neat but could be better.

That I can say I at least worked on with my imagination. I can't tell you how many pieces of paper I went through too.
Now THIS is tl;dr ;x

Yoshitaka Amano, I remember one of his quote...
"If you can make people to stop for a while to watch your drawing, then you have succeeded." something like that.
You know I have always have that insecure feeling when drawing, thinking on how I need to become as good as the pro and then feeling weak when I can't produce the artwork as good as them. But I do like to draw a lot so its kinda hard for me to let go of it, so I've decided to draw for fun and try not to pressure myself :) and I kinda agree drawing makes you forget everything around you. Sometimes I didn't realize how much time have passed when I'm drawing.
Well from your drawing its not that bad and seems you're experimenting with something new. If you keep drawing and try experimenting with your drawings then you will realize you're actually improving.
Ah, I don't like to write really long post so guess I'll stop. Anyway I like the tiger/doglike creature you drew.

This post is what makes the question "what do you see yourself doing in 5 years" useless, because if you asked myself 5 years ago - it would have been what I said in the first thread when I made it. Now I'm in Art School.
I feel kind of odd posting here because it's been so long, but it's also been a very long time since I've been active with drawing. I started school again Summer of 2012 and currently in my third quarter (10 week courses, well summer was 9 weeks) and I'm now going to The Art Institute for Graphic Design due to my large interest in typography and branding.
Now that I'm in school I found myself having to take LOTS of drawing classes which surprised the hell out of me because I never considered myself much of an illustrator. Now I have to get better and fast lol.
I'll post my previous assignments for you all to look at, though they aren't fantastic since a lot of things were new to me and I hadn't had much prior experience with.
2-D Drawing and Design:
The purpose was to create (more organic shapes with various techniques, this was my very first drawing class since going to The Art Institute, and quite honestly I wasn't expecting classes like these.
Assignment 1: Lines
I really am still not satisfied with this drawing, I spent the longest on this one, and I feel like because of that it was tortured. This was the first art assignment I had done in years since I even posted on here (because I really didn't have any artwork done since the last images drawn)
Assignment 2: Shapes
This was a "make it work" moment for me because I was behind in class and had to get it done in one class. It was a 'come up with a concept, get it down, ink it, turn it in'
I'll be skipping a handful, just because they were mundane things like gradient scales etc.
Assignment 5: Chaos vs Boredom
This one is my favorite. I didn't post the boredom on there because we were supposed to exaggerate composition on what is almost 'too much' for the eye to handle, and then another item that's too boring, in which I just drew a square.
The reason this one is my favorite is because I immediately knew what I was going to do and ran with it. When I was very small (kindergarten) my baby sitter would have me scribble with pen on paper and then give me crayons and have me color in the sections, and the rule was I couldn't have two sections with the same color. So I did this with different patterns and effects with the pen.
There were a couple more assignments but I never got my notebook back in time for me to scan them and I was never able to pick it up from my teacher who isn't actually with the school anymore.
Color Theory:
Learning the principals of color and how they interact. Painting.
Christ. I've NEVER painted before this class and it was quite a love hate relationship.
Type of paint was gauche and we only had primary colors plus white and black
Assignment 1: The color wheel
I painted blotches and clipped them out with a puncher and pasted them to my Bristol board.
Assignment 2: Tints, tones, and shades
A tint is a color mixed with white, tones mixed with gray, and shades mixed with black. ie "The painting had a tint of red with a shade of green"
Assignment 3 (part 1): Complimentary Color Scale
Had to do a scale of complementary colors, which in this case is Green and Red. When looking at a color wheel, the color directly across from one color is its complementary color. Then there's a section with tints of white added to neutralize the colors more.
Assignment 3 (part 2): neutralized colors in a composition
Same group of colors and put into a composition
Assignment 3 (part 3): fuck your composition up and try to make it a composition
I still don't understand why we did this part. No matter what I did, I couldn't find a way I liked so yeah.
Assignment 4: Ugh, my life.
Lets see if I can even remember what this fucker was. It was a design with 4 different uses of colors but all sharing one color (green - yes the top left is actually green, but a TINY bit in white, it didn't reflect well with the scanner)
This design has way too much information about it regarding color, but it was a test to see that we understood color, and we even had to write a statement about the drawing describing all the color uses in it and why we did it.
Assignment 5: Depth
This is actually done in like 5 minutes. I was crunched for time and did it the night before but was tired and didn't want to spend time on it. Surprisingly it looked awesome from a distance lol and the class loved it so I got a 100% on it.
Assignment 6: Express yourself with color
This was our final project. I basically just did a tree showing fall/winter time and the colors in the sky to show evening time. I love nature and I love evenings because I can settle down for the day after all my activities and responsibilities.
Drawing:
Honestly I didn't take images of much, we mostly did 1 point, 2 point, 3 point perspective, some gradient scales. Then we had a final project where we had to draw photo realistically. Which sucked ass.
Intro to Design Applications:
This was a swell class that did a crash course on several of Adobe's design programs Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I only saved two of my assignments which were both from Photoshop:
Assignment 1: Uh.. I forget the term, but that shit where you paste shit on top of each other... composite?
He wanted us to do that creating a flier and to play with filters on the program.
Assignment 2: Photo restoration
My teacher was a tweaker, I swear he was always twitching and pulling at his hair. I got a good laugh when he was reviewing my work (he didn't receive a side by side) and all I heard randomly was "why did you add fire?!"
This quarter I'm taking Life Drawing and Computer Illustration so I'll have a good mix of pencil drawings and computer... illustrations using Adobe Illustrator. Hopefully I'll have some decent things to share with you all.

Drawing hands isn't something I have a lot of experience with. I did it once in high school (like my Sophmore year too Dx) and I got out of it by adding different weights to lines to over compensate how they weren't that great.
I will be learning from a professor later on how to draw hands and maybe later this quarter I'll be able to give you better tips
