New Computer Hard Drive Detection Problem?
0
Hi guys, i am in deep need of help here!
I just bought a new parts and set it up myself.
The parts I bought are:
Gigabyte Z87M-D3H
Intel i5 4670k
Nvidia GTX 760
8gb DDR3 RAM
650w Power supply
I did not buy a new hard drive for i already have one from my old computer which I plan to use. But you see, this is where my problem is... Everything is working fine it can turn on and I am currently at the BIOS screen. However, this is the only screen that I can get to... Because when I try to install windows 7, it doesnt detect my dvd drive, and sometimes it doesnt detect my harddrive, and sometimes it does detect my hard drive and dvd drive. When I manage to get to the windows 7 install screen, after i reach the part where im supposed to select what hard drive to install it in, I dont see any hard drives visible, its all empty....
I do not know how to fix this, I am in real need of help. I want to play games on my new pc, but for some reason it detects the hard drive and dvd drive for a while and then it suddenly doesnt detect it afterwards. Ive tried changing the settings in the BIOS from AHCI to IDE and still nothing, it detects it but then afterwards it doesnt detect it...
I first thought it was a problem with the motherboard but i did some research and some people were having the same problem as well! I really want to fix this problem as soon as possible, so I a asking help from you guys over here!
Please help me out here! Thanks in advance!
EDIT: If ever I manage to find a solution for the hard drive, how about my dvd drive? I would want both parts to work! Anyone out there who has experienced the same problem as me, help me out here please! Thank!

Did you format and clean the drive before you removed it from the other computer?

No... Should I always reformat the HDD before transferring it? I did reformat it though in the part where you can click reformat from the windows 7 installation part when i get to select which HDD i want to install it in, but it still failed.
Would buying a brand new HDD from the market fix this problem right away?

Maybe, I can't guarantee anything but there is a high possibility getting a new HDD will work. I would put it back into the old computer and run it through HDTune to see if there's any bad sectors or health issues. I would also delete any volumes that are currently on the drive via the Windows disc using the old computer as well.
