New Years': Not such a big deal?

All of you have no lives, get some friends and party on new year's like everybody with an ounce of social capability. Get drunk on skype with friends. It's a delicious experience. Minus the puking anyway.

Nothing special happens. Anything we do on New Years (party, go out, etc) can be done any other day. The only thing New Years means to me is writing the wrong year on everything for the next month.

I don't really see it as such a big deal, but I have no problem with people wanting to celebrate it. It's okay to want to have fun and enjoy it, after all. ^_^

New Years is just any ordinary year, there will be Deaths and birth like always the world will become more hazardous each day, new years resolution is one useless pile of crap that people use to feel better even though they dont even follow it (--,)

Well, yeah...its just people celebrating a new year. Nothing exciting, just a fun time to celebrate with friends, drink and eat.
I'm not complaining.

A new year isn't as exciting as a new century. 2000>2012Not as exciting as someone might think, because most people celebrated the beginning of the new Millennium on the wrong New Year's Eve. The new millennium started 2001, so it was New Year's Eve on December 31st 2000, not 1999.
And yeah, I agree that is basically just a calendar change regarding the year. Happens with the months every month and we don't celebrate that. Oh wait ... another reason to party and get drunk? WOHOOO!!!

I enjoy having survived another significant period of time, and Jan 1st is as good a date as any to mark it.
Spending the evening with friends that I haven't seen in a while is good too.

To some people its a new start, to me it just feels like another year is over and its a time for celebration.

It's no big deal for me, just another year passing by. I do admit 2012 was more fucked up than good, but I guess I wanna change that so I have more good memories than bad memories.

I know that feel.
Yes, it kinda lose its spirit to some. Like "It's new year. Again."
And turning on the TV afterwards, only to see news of those who got their hands exploded due to firecrackers.

I guess it depends on what and how you decide to spend the night. With friends, family or by yourself it all varies. I am not much of a festive guy. I rarely celebrate Christmas, Easter or new years; but when I do, I make sure it's one to remember.
Yes that does mean getting pissed with friends at an apartment. :L
Overall those days are an excuse for people to party or get together.
