On the search for cheap and good quality pencil lead in bulk

This is my first post on the forums, so I'm sorry if this was posted in the wrong section.

Anyways, I was looking for a cheap and good quality pencil lead that I could buy in bulk. Usually I buy the Pentel 0.5mm 2B pencil lead 3 packs(36 leads) for $6 or something. I'm really looking to get more leads because I go through a lot of leads. Any suggestions?

6$ for 36 leads comes out to 16 cents per lead.

I normally buy this. The Staples around here doesn't carry the 2B version for some reason so I just ebay it. At 13$ shipped per box of 144 leads, it comes out to 9 cents per lead.

Another option if you're willing to go HB is which can easily be found in stores for anywhere between 3.5-5$. That comes out to 8.7-12.5 cents per lead. Other "nice" brands like Uni-Ball and Staedtler also make 40 pack leads at that price range.

Finally, if you want to go bonkers over pencil leads, I would suggest looking at a stationery website like jetpens.com. I'm also sure you could find some obscur community online somewhere where they discuss the finer points of leads and mechanical pencils.

Although artists use pencils, your post has nothing to do with art.
