Another thread about everyone's favorite topic. Yes I realize there are millions of them.
XDCC, torrent, and ddl master race reporting in.
Anyone who didn't see this coming from day one is an idiot.
Allow me to explain this in the most simple way possible.

Search manga, find group site, download manga, grats you are done. Was that so hard? All you need is a brain and some 1st grade reading level and there you have your manga.
Now you can also try and xdcc on irc which I hear really good for old content.

It always amazes me when people scream "WWWHHHYYYYYY" when a popular site that does something quasi-legal at best gets shot down. Especially when it does stuff that's on major crackdown.
Yeah, because companies are blind right? And they surely won't notice the several first juicy site with hundreds of views and same number of materials.
YYYYYEAAAAAAHHHHHHH?
Anyway, I had recorded the names of all scanslation groups that did manga relevant to me and found their homepages long before shit hit the fan.
Now, I believe there are drinks with citrus and little umbrellas waiting for me, somewhere.

Well, we are in a danger zone.
If they ever go after hentai mangas.
Hopefully, it won't happen...too soon.

Most likely it's not the doujins that will cause the site to go down, but there are plenty of other material here that are dangerous.

Ohh the drama...
I already made a note of each group that scanlates my favorite ones.
People need to learn the smart way....
But honestly, I really don't like downloading my manga chapters... since I tend to collect them in the end, resulting in less space for my anime and VNs

Looking through IRC and scouring translator sites is a much more inconvient way of getting your manga. Sindalf almost sounds delighted everyone has to start downloading instead of view their manga online.
Onemanga was a place where every manga could conveniently be found without any more hassle than typing a name into a search bar. It is the same reason people use Fakku.
And of course onemanga effects everyone.
When the Nazis came for Onemanga,
I remained silent;
I did not use Onemanga.
When they locked up the anime streaming sites,
I remained silent;
I did not stream my anime.
When they came for the torrent sites,
I did not speak out;
I did not use torrents.
When they came for the translators,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a translator.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

The only reason I don't like onemanga is because it was a for profit business. They did everything not for the sake of fans but for the sake of money. I can't respect that.

Home from London (early)
I am on the one manga face book and the kids there are panickings (being kids)
So I suggested they (and I for some part) look and see who the scanlators are and
find their sites
Some of the scanlators are of course no longer around due to attrition and lack of staff but there are a lot that are and there is Manga Fox and others
Just takes some work on your favorite search engine
Someone made the point that the scanlators wont go away. At least not because of the changes. But I know and support a couple of them
Most are teenagers
Most do it for the joy of translating
Beats having then going out and stealing hubcaps LOL

While I agree with some level of you arguments when it comes to downloading anime/manga, since when is it such a problem to have simple convenience? It's not terrible to want to be able to download your manga from a conglomerate rather than having to go to their individual scanlating sites.

This is always the usual story, the scanlators' blogs rarely get any hits. It's always these aggregation sites that pull the masses.
Instead of searching for the releases, readers just want everything laid down on a conveyor belt so that they can pick whatever they like.

Actually, it could possibly affect all manga-loving otakus.
Perhaps I am being paranoid, but I believe the authorities are never satisfied. Once they score a small victory, they will eventually move on to a bigger kill.
I tend to purchase physical copies of the manga I enjoy, but credit must go to these manga-viewing sites which allow me to gather more information on the respective titles' storylines and artwork, before making a decision.

Hm, is there no place where you can browse manga series and maybe have a download link? I'm sorry I don't know but I would be interested to get one which is updated frequently.Manga Traders is good for that. Although, I have noticed it has been taking forever to download, at several times during the day. I'm going to assume it's because it's being accessed like crazy in the wake of all this. I'm sure Manga Traders will belly up like the rest of them eventually, so people are probably downloading like crazy while they still can.
Edit: Oh, and you have to have an account for Manga Traders, but it is free and easy.
