PC Build Questions

So my friend is upgrading a his pc, however its extremely old and the only thing he can recycle is his HDD. I am giving him my old parts they are just mid range parts but were going to buy a new GPU for the system. But my only question is compatibility issues for the GPU and mother board as well as the PSU wattage recommended for this system.
So heres the motherboard mobo
The thing is, the slot is only PCI-e x16, so im assuming thats 1.0 right? Cause this mobo is really kind of old, and the cpu is just mid range for gaming. But were still going to get a GPU.
The GPU we plan to buy is the HD 7750 and its just another mid range card, but we want to get it for the system anyway.
So my question is, will this GPU work on the old motherboard even though its a PCI-e 3.0 card? Will it still work on PCI-e 1.0? I would really like to know, cause if it will we will buy it for sure.
Second question, is 320w of a psu enough for the whole system? The processor is just an intel core duo so it wont eat up so much power, but is a 320w PSU good enough for this gpu?
If not, could you guys recommend other GPUs out there that are lower than the 7750 and obviously cheaper as well but still plays games even on medium settings. Nvidia cards are also welcome, were not after the brand, were after what works best with out current situation.
Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert, but it should work as they are backwards compatible. And 320 watts should be more than enough to power the system with a 7750 as the GPU itself doesn't require any 6 pin power connector. It should be like an estimate of 200~ watts max.

I can confirm they should work, although it may be a good idea to upgrade the motherboard to prevent bottle-necking. Have fun playing the 7750 is a great card.
