holly macro, I love medical labs...I feel so much at home...I always go to the lab in the hospital I work to pick up blood for transfusions myself so I can be around all the machines...perhaps I'll change from the clinical in to the research part one day..

what kind of lab are you working in? is it in a a hospital or a university or something? damn, now you'r one of the cool kids in my eyes :p

I'm an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Texas at Austin. My lab's focus is microbial evolution.

Did you apply as an engineering major? Our engineering school is really competitive, so it's not surprising. I don't know about transfers, but I remember that when applying to college after highschool, it was useful to aim for one of the less competitive colleges, like art or liberal arts, and then switch your major. Not sure if that would be possible given your situation.

Thing is, I kind of did 2 semesters of one university back in Bangladesh, but applied as a freshman. They changed me into a transfer later. May have had something to do with it, who knows. But yeah, I know how competitive engineering is there.

I get the same prob with my pics sometimes too. I think its because the setting is high on my camera. Sometimes the photo size read 38 x 50 inches!!! So I go into photoshop and reduce the size before I upload them. ( I find 8 x 6" is fine)
I don't know if there is an easier way

All of these pictures were taken by the same iPhone within a few minutes of each other, so I don't think that's it. Sadpanda lagged a bit between uploading the 2nd and 3rd pictures, after which it started super-sizing them, maybe that has something to do with it?

Ahh. I see that same loading lag too. I wonder if that's really it?! Well I guess it will be figured out eventually.

Bacteria itself doesn't phase me. My imagination tends to get the better of me, so I was thinking up some "28 Days Later" scenarios if one of those test tubes dropped.

Haha, well I can assure you that none of these bacteria are pathogenic. A broken test-tube of this stuff just means 5 more minutes of work for me.
