Hurt Locker Producers to Target 50,000 Pirates
I, for one, don't download American movies, but I think this is a little ridiculous. Apparently, if you downloaded The Hurt Locker illegally with a Torrent-based software, you are in for it. How much is this going to cost you? From previous lawsuits similar to this one, it was around $2500. That's right. You will be fined more than if you stole the movie from the store.
This seems to me like a greedy and unfair attempt to gain more revenue for the movie. While people shouldn't be pirating movies, and I'm a big supporter of films by buying them or renting them at least, this is going to far. At the most charge them a $100 fine. Not this insane asking price.

I'm the same, I don't pirate American movies...and the people who did, well sucks for them, when this movie came out I just went to Redbox, rented it, watched it, returned it..and while I do have to agree that they may be trying to gain more profit, just put yourself in the position of a say an H-game dev/producer, all the hard work and time you put into developing/producing the game, ect. ect. You would want some kind of profit for all that hard work. While I do have to say that the producers are most likely not going to apprehend all the pirates it will still continue, people will still pirate because it's free.

but seriuosly, next they will come after anyone who rents and then dubs. if they had their way, you would pay for every time you watched a movie.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
What better way to 'convince' those people not to download movies, then to slap them with a fine?
It's a simple answer. Don't do that shit.
