Proposal: Mainstream Hentai?

Once something deviates from real life, non-filmed sex, it's already non-mainstream.I completely agree with this point. To me, it seems like a lot of us get so used to seeing hentai that it becomes a regular part of our lives. Perhaps even more normal than seeing 3D porn. However, you must understand that although us few may have become accustomed to hentai, 2D porn is still quite foreign to the vast majority of people. And I think a lot of times we forget that.
BTW: OP was tl;dr, I just wanted to post how much I agree with this post.

i see were your coming from as my dreams are somewhat similar, tho they have to do with anime in general not just hentai. general long term goal it to change the stenotype in america about anime. its a big goal but as my dad always saids, aim for the stars you might just land on the moon.
what im getting at is thats what your gonna have to do before you have any hope of getting any form of anime mainstream, and not A broadcasted on the "kids cartoon channel" or B braodcasted after midnight.
prospect a is bad enough as it feeds the stenotype that anime are kids cartoons, and b just fuels the stenotype that all anime is hentai.
i have some vague plans on how to attempt to change it, i haven't thought about it to much as this is what im going to be devoting my life to and ill have more then enough time to think about it.
but it mostly consists of information flow, making the information about the style story and work behind these creations more known.
and ofcourse theres the subject of mentally retarded voice-over company's. my first thought was to have the CEO'S shot but thats counter productive. i think.
eitherway you have a big project ahead of you, and i have to say its one that you have to fully commit yourself to in order to have any chance of succeeding at. if you aren't 100% behind it your going to crash and burn.
best of luck to you.

Hah, thanks.
Yeah. OP, sadly, porn itself isn't mainstream either: porn-influenced culture is. For example, like was mentioned earlier, celeb sex and such does influence popular culture, but that doesn't mean everyone who considers themselves mainstream went and ACTUALLY watched the films.
