Random acts of kindness

So has anyone recieved any random acts of kindness as of late? Or have any of you done the same for someone?
One of my customers offered to grab me some food (mostly because he heard my stomach growl) since I've had to work a double today. I'm kinda thankful because I haven't had time to pack a lunch today, since I was feeling a little ill yesterday and overslept.
He was pretty nice old guy whom doesn't creepy like the other older patrons I deal with. I offered to pay him back tomorrow but he refuses, I'm still going to do it though.

Hm, haven't been in a situation where I would need to go out of my way to help someone. But I always try to be courteous wherever I go. i.e. holding doors, please and ty's, rescuing damsels and puppies from burning skyscrapers etc etc

I've actually recently had a friend get mad at me for stopping to let two girls pass through the door that my group was going through... It's not only uncommon but frowned upon in some cases -.-

Don't let people sway ya like that, a little kindness can make someones day better sometimes.

Whenever someone's in dire need or is in trouble, I'm reluctant to help them. The other night, I heard a girl crying up my road and I was really tempted to get dressed and approach her and ask her what was wrong, but I never did and someone, who I assume to be her dad, picked her up after about 20 minutes.
It's not because I'm a bad person, but sometimes I'm scared of how they're going to react, you know?
But sometimes I still do the small courteous things, like hold doors open for people or stand up off a seat on the bus as an elderly person gets on the same crowded bus as I am.

I know what you mean, those situations don't always work out as well as they do in movies.

I still find it rather shameful that these actions which I do as a simple matter of course are actually of such rarity that someone thought it warranted it's own thread.

TotLly understandable, dude.
I used to live in some kinda bad areas, and I've seen a good situations like yours end badly. It was jusy a ploy to mug someone.
Not saying it would happen to you, but I just would as hesitant as you in that situation.

I was grocery shopping some time ago and the person ahead of me forgot one of their bags, so I ran through the store to give them the bag.

I help people all the time with random small things.
The cashier at Wendy's gave me free baked potatoes for no apparent reason other than he wanted to. Also got the sour cream and butter with it so I'm fine.

There was this toy on the street when I was crossing, and I saw this young girl pointing at it and start talking to her mum, I assume that it was hers so I picked it up and when I'm about to give it to her, she starts crying for no reason, and I was like "WHAT DID I DO? I WAS PICKING IT UP FOR YOU!!"
Nothing has happened to me so far, so hopefully when the time comes...

I usually help with the small things. Opening a door, running groceries that someone might have forgotten if I'm next in line, that kind of thing. Mostly don't run into those huge situations.

I understood most of that.
I get what you're saying though.
This guy in particular I had told I would be around tomorrow and saturday, so hopefully he comes by, as I don't like not repaying debts of any sort.

I got a slight refund on some models I recently bought from a employee at the local games workshop because of a holiday discount that is just now going on, when your spending in the triple digits, 25% goes a long way.
