I like it too. Sadly, though, it's rare to even find one here.

Lomaigai- 糯米鸡 - steamed sticky rice with chicken in lotus leaf wrap
Well-steamed, nice amount of chicken, lacks of dried shrimp is a thumbs up in my opinion. Seasoned well with star anise, but a bit small and possibly too sticky
8/10

Wow. Sounds like a feast.

And I assume Lomaigai is some sort of a rice cake?

[color=#993300]They can be big or small, a snack or a full meal
Lomaigai is actually the cantonese name for it (you learned cantonese today!) and is one of the many dishes served at dim sum (Chinese tea time essentially)
"Feast" your eyes! dur hur hur

[color=#993300]The difference is that you wrap them in lotus leaves before hand then put them in a steamer, but it's pretty similar, with different spices and fillings. As such, you can't really cook them in a rice cooker :P

Actually tasted pretty good though.

Yeah, I've tried wrapping them before cooking, but I can't remember the correct method.

So you cook the rice first, then you wrap them with lotus leaves, then steam?
I'm an asian too, but I still don't know how rice cake works :p

For joong, I believe you cook the sticky rice first, then spread it on the leaves with the other ingriedients in the middle, wrap them up and tie with string. Then boil them.

[color=#993300]Its quite similar for Lomaigai, the idea is to cook the rice twice and with additional flour to make the glutinous rice. The main difference between that and Joong is that with Joong, the wrap is trangular and with I believe banana leaves and packed thinner than Lomaigai, which is with lotus leaves wrapped into a tight square with lots of padding
