Which is best when recycling cans? Crush the can flat or leave it as it is?
I'm kinda poor right now and I need a few bucks so here I am.

Crushing them just saves space.. unless you add a little cement to a couple.. not too much unless you want a trash can full of cans with a weight of 13 pounds... a full trash can is between 6 and 7 ibs. Glass and copper/aluminum scrap is more worth it.

Depends on where you will recycle them. If it's at a recycling machine, sometimes they do not accept crushed cans. If it's at a recycling place with an actual human weighing stuff, then it's probably ok to crush it.

Are there any other instances where you shouldn't crush them?

Lots of places only accept them uncrushed. If they're crushed, they're harder to clean (or assure cleanliness).

I think that's it--every other recycling place accepts crushed cans. The machines don't accept crushed recyclables because they use scanners to tell the shape of the can/bottle.

Sometimes the local redemption value can come out to be more than what the current weight rate is.

I take out the rage of my daily life by crushing my Arizona Ice Tea cans as if they were my math teachers head.......that's normal right?
