OMG this totally sucks. All his music was beautiful, calm, serene, relaxing...the list goes on...
He completely changed the kind of music that I love...
I'm gonna go cry now....

This really depressed me, I really liked his music, it was so unique amongst the shit we get these days, and was the exact type of music I loved.
Can only hope someone surpasses him.

Have you guys heard of Nomak? I liked to compare him to Nujabes often with their music.

Ah him I've heard of actually, I agree his music is similar to Nujabes, I'll have to look more into his work.

Necro-bump. This is now the offical Nujabes thread. I been listening to him recently and boy is he amazing. For some weird reason mixing Jazz into Hip Hop/Rap sounds so good. I kinda like the instrumental version more than the original versions.
Normally I don't like Hip Hop at all but this...... works.

I was surprised when I saw this. He died a long time ago and when I saw it on the first page of the music thread I thought "I can't believe someone just found out about it and decided to make a thread". I should be less judgemental...
Yes Nujabes is amazing.
I don't get the for some reason part of your post. Jazz is amazing, by default I'd think mixing with anything would make something great. Most bands I like mix styles. If done well mixing styles makes for the best music around.
Hip-hop is a great genre imo. If you like Nujabes you will more than likely like hip-hop. Not rap, hip-hop. Look for some "A Tribe Called Quest" albums and you'll find a lot of music that sound exactly like Nujabes. Most of Nujabes music can be called straight up hip-hop. Also I recommend watching "Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest" by Michael Rappaport, yes the actor. He does a surprisingly great job. even though it's about A Tribe Called Quest and their history you learn a lot about hip-hop. I think you will see the whole genre with different eyes if you do watch it.

Wish he was still alive today~ His music is just utterly amazing and has so much chill factor you may even forget to breath sometimes. Tsurugi no mai has to be my favorite song of all by him. Im glad I watched Champloo and hell Im glad he did the music for it since I wouldve never found out about him. Similar artist to check out are like Dj Okawari and Marcus D
