Robeasts and other monster robots must be expensive...

These evil empires trying to invade whatever planet interests have a lot of wealth. So why only send one or three giant robot monsters to take on the super robot defending that world? I mean... all those vast resources and they couldn't invest it all in an army of giant super invader robots...
Worse, the invader robots they send are cheap as heck! The super robot defending the planet kills every single one the evil empire sends, and it never even needs an upgrade! Makes me wonder exactly how stingy the evil empire rulers are with their money, or if the insurance premiums for "Superior Quality" super robot monsters are too high...
As for some of the giant robots defending their planets, it's amazing that they're able to defend their worlds with the weapons they have. Rocket Punches?!? Even worse... Boob Missiles! Jeez... At least one of the Gundam robots got it right. Dual Chest Mounted Gatling Guns make more sense than having two ineffectual exploding flying breasts...
*I apologize for this topic... just had a bit too much Japanese or Korean coffee*

I have a feeling you're talking about Mazinger and the other Super Robots anime. The ones that I can came up with the enemy relly invested a lot of resorces to their monsters but the quality of the materials seems to be weaker than the heroic Mecha they're fighting. And the Earth mecha is made of some sort of super secreat materials in case of Mazinger they call it Alloy-Z and in case of the Getter Robo they are powered by Getter energy kinda tells you "we have mecha composed of secret materials that beats you robot monster anytime."
Well when you talk about boob missile it kinda reminds me of this 4 koma.

And the attack names in Mazinger anime, Breast Fire. Breast Burn...

Normally in the Super Robot realms money is out of the question. You can probably hear complaints about collateral damage but no exact figures usually (kinda like how the UN always complain about NERV and the EVAs). As for their weaponry I guess it's part of charm why Super Robots are "Super" because it defies common sense (Boob missles and don't forget Mazinger also has a missile that comes out near the crotch area).

Definitely not just Japan. lol! I'd say EDF. Collected tax from the hapless, clueless but very generous population!

Well, I can't think of any known Group/Individual who can fund them save for the budget cut they can get. But then again most of the time the military (which is government owned) is against the Super Robot development so I guess you're right about that. LOL :)

I'm gonna go with Aliens, Espers and Time Travellers for the secret fundings.

Now that I think about it there's one guy who seems to be an exception to this case. The pilot of Big O, he's wealthy enough to fund his own Giant Robot.

Don't forget Klein Sandman. He built his own giant combining robot, and hired all the staff to keep it up and running and pilots to do battle in it. And then there's his even richer relative who's been funding all the invader bots. And this guy has the sense to do what evil empires like the Planet of Doom have never done... send an army of giant robot monsters to take on the single world defending super robot. Too bad they still lost anyway...

Daitarn 3 made by Banjo's father in some research lab before being attacked by alien or something so I don't think its self funded. Banjo had already gotten Daitarn 3 before he got rich I think.

Well, since Gravion is somewhat researched in some other planet guess its the secret of why it could go against the invaders or maybe the other one.

If I was an evil invading emporer, I wouldn't be stupid enough to send just one monster at a time unless I was just probing for weaknesses. In THAT case I just send my weakest monster and instruct him to attack then avoid being attacked while recording data on the super robot he's fighting. Once I've collected enough data I'd make a monster robot capable of taking down the defending super robot, then send down several of the same giant monster at once. Once the defending super robot is destroyed the planet would be mine for the taking. One of these days I'll find out how these bungling Imperial rulers keep ending up in charge of an evil empire only to ruin it with their incompetence...

Like how the Bozanian Empire sent 2 ant lion-like robots against Voltes V and almost beat him with synched attacks but along came the Mechanical Eagle and taught them how to use the Ultraelectromagnetic Ball to hold one in place while he finishes off the other.

True, which is why I'll have to hide my data gathering while I probe for weaknesses and at the same time lull the defending world into a sense of complacency. Then when their guard is at their lowest point, I send in my super robot busting monsters en masse. They'll destroy the super robot defender and the surrounding countryside for miles around. That'll guarantee that he won't counter me and destroy any spare robots he might be hiding. It's cheaper than pouring all of my best materials and money then sending my "best warriors" one at a time to take on the super robot.

Well the early Go Nagai-era super robots are kids' shows that's why the enemies cannot be that smart and the good guys have to win. :3

Heheh... Yeah. If the bad guys won by being very smart, then they wouldn't be able to attract children who would badger their parents for doll... er... action figures. :)
One of these days someone should pitch a show idea to Japanese animators about a young evil space emporer who sends cool looking robot monsters to conquer good super robots. Instead of a "Monster of the Week" format it would be a "Planet to Conquer for the Week". Probably won't fly as it could be a bad influence on the viewer, though.

The whole world was in chaos. It seems to fail too. Of course Mazinger got destroyed but then they sent MazinKaiser down from space owned the enemy. Evil empire wiped out in a day...
They even tried that at the early episode of Shin Mazinger. In one of the battle they send a couple of monsters against Kouji. Send one monster. Rust Tornado. Send more. Breast Fire. Send in more. Rocket Punch ownage. Send more. God knows what kind of attack Mazinger will pull out next.
In Getter case the same happened except we get more getter machines and they reached near godly power. They even got the Shin Getter Dragon. That thing is freaking crazy.
Humanoids are freaking persistent.
