Rock/Metal and Satan
0
Hey guys, SpiritSlayer here. Well I know I am kinda retarded because I created a fakku account and just left it, well that's because I got really engrossed in this manga called Over Bleed/GEKIRYUUCHI and Blue Dragon and a bit of The world god only knows and today I was listening to Smells like Teen Spirit, went to Stairway to Heaven and then I saw a link on the suggestion box (I was on youtube of course) which showed the song backwards and I was surprised to find Satanic lines in it. I googled searched this and found many songs have this and is known as back masking or something, then I suddenly started reading some weird ass shit(excuse the language) about rock/metal and satan and now suddenly I am "scared" to listen to rock/metal even though I know it's not real (I am an atheist). So how many of you guys believe that Rockstars have sold their sold to the Devil? and please offer me some condolences. I AM FRIGGIN SCARED *Hides under his blanket*

-_-... really? FIrst off this is old news, you're a bit late to the party, and second of course it's just bs people made up, why in the name of god, buddha, jesus, haruhi suzumiya would Zeppplin put santanic lyrics in their songs, and why backwards. If you're that scared go listen to Slayer, at least their satanic lyrics are forwards.

Well I do listen to Slayer and I LIKE their straightforward approach to Satanism and hell their solo in Raining Blood is fucking amazing! but this weird ass shit (which is backward) scares the hell outta me.

Dude, as an Atheist, I believe that any fear in any 'real' demons, supernatural, undead, etc. is psychological, in other words in your head. A lot of musicians do this but either it is coincidence or solely for effect and nothing more. If you choose to be scared of this, you will be.

Ya I heard about this a long time ago. I think a lot of it isn't true. And even if it is there are hundreds of rock/metal bands out there. Just listen to the ones that don't have satanic lyrics.
@MrShadowzs I love how you included Haruhi in you list of deities I loled

Curious and Wondering
Here's something (somewhat related) to wrap your head with:
Good line: "Christians shouldn't be allowed near rock n' roll." - Billy Connolly

Of course they sold their souls to the devil. All the cool shit comes from Satan. Why do you think most Christian music sucks?

No surprise there, rock and the devil go back quite awhile. Early blues music (which would later evolve into rock) frequently told tales about the devil. "Crossroad Blues" by Robert Johnson tells the story of how he sold his soul to the devil so he could play the blues better. "Black Sabbath" by (who else) Black Sabbath, talks about Ozzie's supposed encounter with the devil himself. Then there are songs like "Highway To Hell" by AC/DC and one of my favorites "Sympathy For The Devil" by the Rolling Stones. Just because people listen to rock doesn't mean they worship the devil (usually) they just like to let loose and get angry occasionally.
