What was the single best and single worst feature of this movie? Metacritic only gave it a 37...Best would be the action scenes (since thats all it is) and worst would be the characters. They were not that interesting and the movie just throws you into the action without taking time to develop anyone first, so you end up not caring about them.

Thanks.
I guess I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD and rent it. Don't really feel like paying up 10 bucks to see explosions for 2 hours.

I dont blame you, it doesnt really sound like my thing when I think about it either, but as a popcorn flick it was good. If you get invited by some friends or something, I would say go for it, but dont go out of your way unless you love micheal bay movies.

I think the absolute worst thing about this movie was in the middle when one of the central characters has an emotional scene. The problem wasn't so much the scene itself, but right after THAT scene there is ANOTHER segment where he gets all serious and emotional with his fellow troops. It was pretty cheesy I thought. Nothing was exceptionally bad about the film though, so overall it was a really fun movie to watch.

One thing I really liked about the film was how the aliens were more mortal than other alien movies. Whenever there is an alien invasion movie, you usually see the aliens being shot at but never really killed, or they are killed but only after a bunch of ammo is pumped into them. Here they went down with relative ease much like a human would.

They had to take out the shields, then everything went the human's way - cause apparently we can destroy aliens if we make it a fair fight.
I liked how the movie implied the alien soldiers were not willing soldiers as evidenced by how their guns were fused into their bodies. Still, this movie did have a "magic key" (to the right of the derp!) but it wasn't all that important.

Battle LA - 8.5/10 its like black Hawk Down meets District 9.No, no, no, NO!
It was not ANYTHING like District 9! This movie was Independence Day thrown into the wash with Call Of Duty, and the colors bled with the whites!
I'm sorry, but District 9 was a social commentary. Maybe it wasn't very sophisticated in that respect, but District 9 was ultimately saying something about human rights. Battle LA WAS NOT a social commentary, unless it was trying to say that
Spoiler:
This movie really frustrated me. They had Aaron Eckhart talking in that weird, gruff voice that sounded really forced and unnatural, a bunch of pivotal moments in this movie you could see a mile away and the movie was unbelievably patriotic (literally, I had trouble believing anyone could be as patriotic as the characters here).
Now I'm not trying to say this movie is inherently bad, or that people who enjoyed it ought to be ashamed of themselves- it was a plenty cool movie. But fuck, I had SUCH higher expectations than I got with this movie. Seriously.

nope.avi
this was a great movie...the action was the pivotal point for this movie, the acting was meh and could have done better. but of course alot of the action overlapped that fact, this movie plain and simple has been one of the better movies I have seen in the past few months. its sad that this movie doesn't get as much attention as it should.
