OK. Here we go again...
The only certain things in life are death, taxes and data loss.
FAKKU's Shadowrun game taking place in highschool of the dead damned in a wacky settings where players can finally unleash the years of frustration brought on by education... in other words prepare for sex, drugs and rock & roll with a good helping of violence and satire... (and absolutely no good sense on my part).
Characters should be made from 350 BP, the SINner flaw can't be used.
Character sheets should be uploaded to http://www.myth-weavers.com for easy access and review by you & GM.
Introduction[/h]
Your old life has been a lie: You were a designer baby raised for bucks, your parents sold you or you've been so much of a delinquent that you got an honorary "admission" into SCHOOL. You were 14... a couple of years have passed since then.
SCHOOL (Special Combat Habitat for Offensive Operation Liaisons) is a gated community in TOWN (the Tactical Ops and Warfare Nursery). It's a lawless place where the only adults are teachers, all of them certified psychopaths or major SOBs. Gangs, clans and cliques rule the majority of TOWN and everyone should have at least a party of close friends nearby to watch your back. You will stay here for four years.
If you thought that was a picnic, you haven't heard about the exams: every year, you have to complete some classes and get grades. Not your garden variety maths of literature class either (though you do have to finish their equivalent too!) ...but stuff like weapon's training, demolitions, infiltration... and phys-ed that makes marine boot-camp look like a stroll in the park. Failed courses mean being retained another year... drop-outs are "expelled"... (along with the contents of their brain).
...this is hell. The good news? You can cheat. The bad news? So is everyone else. Unless you're on the bounce your hard-won grades and meager savings (the better courses needed for graduation take an admittance fee!) will be quickly swept up by the competition. Bullying is deadly around these parts.
Schedule
Games are played every Saturday 14:00 CST / 20:00 GMT.
IRC[/h]
The games are played using IRC. It's recommended you get an IRC (compatible) client to play. Such as: Pidgin, mIRC, XChat.

(In pidgin add a connection selecting the type "IRC" and enter "irc.sorcery.net" as the server).
The room we use is: #school
(In either mIRC, XChat or Pidgin, once you're conneted to the server type "/join #school").
If you really can't be bothered (or you're playing on someone's else's machine) you can use this link to connect from a browser:

character sheet, thought it would be best if I put it up here again :D
EDIT: changed some minor stuff. Got rid of first aid and medicine, put 1 rank in Perception and got a new (Fixer) contact for 3BP. The leftover 1BP was used to buy 5000 nuyen worth of gear, including AR gloves and some stuff related to breaking & entering since it seemed nobody had that yet. Also got a Taser and Stun Baton.
Also, is it okay to assume the character's already a part of a magic group due to them already being in SCHOOL for 2 years or so?

Well your stats are way too high. You can only spend half total starting BP (so 175) on them and maxing them out (10/10, 5/5, etc.) costs 25 instead of the usual 10. If any of that was from cyber/bioware upgrades you should list it in parenthesis like 4/5 (5/8) where the first set is your base stats and the second would be your augmented stats.
Edge being 1 is sorta bad as if you burn edge to save your life you could die again before earning enough to buy it back up.
You don't have Gymnastics (or Dodge but Dodge does the same stuff as Gymnastics minus anything out of combat) or the Influence group. You really don't want to be defaulting on dodging or talking to people. Even if your way of handling combat is to sit and take hits it's not worth the extra damage just because you didn't put in 1 skill point. And even if you don't intend to talk to people....well you have to be the one talking to your own contacts and likely you'll be forced to talk to others sometimes.
Your ratings on knowledge skills are way too high, knowledge skills still have the same ranking cap as regular ones as far as I know. Also you might want to drop the word school from them. Sure it'll make them slightly more useful while we're in school but then if we ever manage to leave they'll suddenly be completely useless.
The maximum BP worth of positive and negative qualities you can have is 35 (each, not combined) and you have quite a bit more than that.
I would highly recommend you get the Wired Reflexes (Rating 2) cyberware.
You also don't have any AR Gloves or a Biometric reader.
And lastly something completely trivial. Your Nuyen listing should be the amount it says you'll start with from your lifestyle.

You don't need both Dodge and Gymnastics. They both do the same thing in combat and Dodge just doesn't do anything out of combat.
Also I don't think you bought the AR Gloves or the Biometric Reader.

I was just wondering... wouldn't it be handy (and fun of course) to log the sessions? I did a lil' search (personally I don't know jack about using most of the features of mirc <_<)and found something that seems usefull: http://www.csun.edu/~webteach/mirc/moremirc.html (look for "Webpup").

After some careful consideration, I believe a re-boot is in order as the setting was depicted in a way to laid back manner with not enough paranoia and Orwellian repression.
The characters have also become somewhat powerful - and this was entirely my fault. I could throw stronger stuff at you guys, but this wouldn't keep with the spirit of the setting and you'd end up rules lawyering one another for finding a way to survive/challenge you guys.
Please contact me in a PM or on IRC.
Also, since the game will be restarted I'm also officially recruiting.
The characters will be 1st year teenagers with little to them beside their name. Rules for chargen follows:
300 BP total, 200 BP may be spent on stats, you may have one stat at 1 or two stats at 2. NO gear, implants, spells, powers, formulae. The story will be about the characters coming into their own.
I've come to this conclusion after realizing that problems stemmed from the fact that players had little feel for the world around them and I either had to go into constant (boring) exposition or railroad you guys into sensible actions (BORING!!!)... since you lacked proper context for your choices.
If I thew a full fledged runner team into the world of SCHOOL these problems would persist and either I'd hold your hand, or I'd throw some nasty shit your way... which wouldn't be fair, since *veterans* runners (which 3rd years ARE) wouldn't make the kind of mistakes that gets an overt response without them knowing about it in advance.
Hence why I decided that the team would have to be low powered, so you would have a natural reason not to be careful and get a feel for things before starting anything noticeable (by the powers that be).
