Should a Hobby be a person Job.
Making a hobby into a job is...
0
Out of curiosity...
Their are 2 sayings I know that contrast each other, as for the origin, I can not recall. As well they may not be "word-for-word" accurate, but meaning is still their.
First saying is... "Never make what you enjoy into your job".
Which I can understand, being forced to do something past exhaustion would, after some time, cause it to bring me despair at the simple thought of, to even grow distaste for.
Second one is... "If you enjoy what your doing, you never work a day in your life".
Which I can also understand, doing something you enjoy is a lot easier than something you don't.
So, I have no idea what to think on this matter. Was curious of other peoples opinions were.

Well, depending on your hobby I guess.
If lifting people's skirt and taking pics of their undies then sell it to people is your hobby, then the answer would be no.
But, let's say your hobby is playing soccer, why not give your best and actually try? The chances you will fail is high, hence, you need a backup plan.
The question is, how good is your backup plan? And, how hard did you try?

Obviously, it depends on the kind of the hobby but if i will ever find a job that is, or at least concern my hobby, i will be done forever.

I have turned both cosplay amd makeup into careers. I own a hobby buisness selling cosplay wigs and makeuo and I work at a spa as a hairstylist and makeup artist. In doing both I have created the top Cosplay team in Atlantic Canada and am one of the mosf highly respected MUAs in my city. It is a lot of work and can take some of the "fun" out at times when things like paperwork come into play but for the most part I love that I was able to do this.
I use to wanr to be a costume designer, I am pretty talented with a sewing machine however I simply realized it would be less fun to charge money for my ceations and more fun to just work. That I will forever keep as a hobby.

If you enjoy what you do, why not get paid for it.
Understand that if you get forced to do it, it could start to lose it's charm. But then again, there is a person in my city whose calling in life is to work at Wendy's... NOT JOKING. You have to experience him to understand what I'm talking about.

It varies wildly. For example: My hobby is cars. I love working on my car, however cars are tedious to work on, and the customer base is actually fully retarded.
I wanted to be a mechanic, but after hearing about how shitty it is, I haven't wanted to do it. For a few reasons.
a) the above
b) Really shit pay
c) It makes you unmotivated towards work on your own car
My friend is looking into making a business in remote control cars. This could go down the same path, but odds are he'll enjoy it tonnes. They aren't anywhere near as tedious as normal cars

I lean a bit towards both. My job is something I enjoy very much, I work at Guitar Center and I'm a musician. However I love to do photography but would never want to do it as a job. I feel like I'd start to hate photography after being required to do it. So for me my answer is yes and no. It really really depends...

It has to be something you can truly invest time in and lose yourself. Like I play video games quite a bit, but at the same time I can easily get bored and walk away from my favorite game of all time for the simple fact I've already beat it four times. However if you told me to write you fictional stories 5 days out of the week I'd be glad to do that for the rest of my stupid life.

I'd say that in most cases, its a bad choice. If its a hobby you enjoy, good, keep it that way, because you don't know if doing it 8h a day, 5 days a week will be enjoyable for the rest of your life. Plus, you won't have a hobby anymore it'll be just... work.

>On-Topic
If that hobby can give you profit, sure, why not.
>Off-Topic
Also, this quote "If you enjoy what your doing, you never work a day in your life"
I really like how this quote says that since you enjoy what you're doing, you don't really think of it as work.

I think it would be a good idea, because it's something you already enjoy and have some knowledge of, so if you enjoy doing it, why not get paid for doing it? Like porn. Jk :P

I cannot answer the poll because I have mixed feelings in this regard.
I love playing games, testing them and programming them, and overall spending long hours solving problems, which actually applies to the 3 previous things I love to do.
The problem? When I wanted to follow a more "tester" / "designer" path I was told to go for the "developer" path since I was much much better on it. Now, I am kind of stuck in it and cannot change back my decision and I can say in all honestly I am not the best programmer, not even a good one, maybe a mediocre one. However, this does not mean I do not enjoy programming what I am told to or what I WANT TO, but I miss the "play / test" part since I am only entitled with the programming part and that makes me really sad.
Overall, I would say it is a good idea, but you must be careful, life can be really treacherous sometimes.

There's no definitive reason for why a job cannot be a hobby, or a hobby cannot be a job.

I love cooking, Anime, and Gaming.
My current dream which is going to happen in August is to go to an actual Culinary School in Tokyo and become a Pro Chef.
My biggest dream Job deals with Gaming and YouTube. I would be happier than when I got married if I can work by making a couple of vids a week and earning a couple of thousands of it. That leaves me time to enjoy anime and my Waifu a little bit more.
