[Locked] Should I actually get serious and look for a better job?
Title.

So I've been thinking about getting a job that pays more, because though being a youtuber is fun and all, my dad's starting to get frustrated with me. Well, there's also the possibility of me using Patreon to fund my hobby.
Watch my videos and then decide what you think I should do. This poll will influence my decision a little bit, but not much. I still have yet to decide, based on my future situation.

Get a job and do the youtubing on your free time.
Keep at it and do the math. If the youtubing looks like it'll be able to support you, then you can think about quitting and going full time.

I took the bait and checked you out. I went in with pretty low expectations (sorry) but I was amused in the end - and surprised at your higher views than I expected.
It seems like you have a pretty good foundation of subscribers and your views are all well watched 200k-800k. That's a lot more than a lot of aspiring Youtubers can say for themselves.
I haven't a clue on what income is like on Youtube and if you get anything from them. But if it's something you aspire to do more of then I say go for it. Maybe get into school for video production? It's pretty much what I did, got into scanlation, got into graphic stuff, went to school for graphic design because I enjoyed it, ended up hired at Fakku.
The only hurdle you may struggle with, and I'm not sure if it is a hurdle since I only watched 2-3 videos of yours is your identity. Successful youtubers, like Markiplier you can identify with, recognize immediately, and reaches out to his community which makes it more close knit and something you want to go back for.
Anyway, you do you and do what makes you happy. But be responsible and take care of yourself too. Can't expect Daddy to always take care of you, so find something (even if it's a lousy job or two) while doing the thing you're passionate about and eventually you'll get somewhere with it.

Do what you gotta do, but you're a great YouTuber. Your DouchebagChocolat videos are very funny and insightful. Western anime culture is growing, as far as I can tell, so there should be a market for your videos. I can't help but feel that the youtube bubble will eventually burst, but you've had other internet reviewing jobs so that may not be a big issue. If you want to get serious about youtube, then I'd suggest posting more videos. I, personally, am not opposed to donating to a select few of my favorite YouTubers; A video every month won't cut it, though. Regardless of what you do, I'd still like to see you make YouTube content.
A fun and informative video:

I like DouchebagChocolat's videos but I'm still skeptical that you're legit.
But I disgress: get a job and do vidyas during free time. If you get popular enough quit and invest all your time on YouTube. It's a no-brainer.

It's your life. Even if other people give you hell for it, they can't experience your life for you. As far as we know, you only get one life. So you might as well spend it the way you want to. If making videos is a viable and reliable option for you, then there's nothing wrong with that decision. But if you're going to do anything, make sure you're prepared to go at it 100%. Succeed or fail you don't want to look back and say you didn't give it your all. That said, I think asking people to make the decision for you is kinda silly. The most we can do is share our thoughts, opinions, and personal experiences. The final call is and should be yours.
