So here's the story:
TL;DR version: I got a large musical instrument from a relative who kicked the bucket five years ago, but couldn't take it due to lack of space. Now I have space, but parents still say "Nope."
So this is where I come to you guys for help. Should I just say fuck it and leave it there or find a way to bring it over myself?

I think it depends on how much it means to you, personally I'd get it because I'd feel bad leaving a gift. Also you might get a spanking if your parents get mad.

Get a friend with a truck. Most of my friends moved out of state to attend college. However, my brother-in law knows a guy with a pickup truck...but I'm not too sure how safe that would be.
Edit: Looks like the pickup option is out, since the truck's owner is somewhere in Afghanistan now.

Should I just say fuck it and leave it there or find a way to bring it over myself? If it has significant meaning to you, you shouldn't just leave it there unless your uncle is okay storing it until you're on your own in a place with space for it.
It's likely going to need at least servicing, and maybe restoring, to get into decent playing condition again. Find out how much that's going to cost.
Step 1, talk to your folks about how you want it regardless of the condition. Explain that you're going to foot the costs to move it, and any repairs/servicing. It may be they're more concerned about noise than anything.
Step 2, Once you've gotten a sign-off to bring it over see if you can get a friend with a truck to help move it, and some other friends to help shift it. Gas money and dinner/beers may be cheaper than a U-haul rental.
If it doesn't mean enough to you to have it moved, see if perhaps you can sell it. Getting an appraisal should be doable at the same time you get a quote for restoration/servicing.

For starters, noise isn't much of an issue, since my parents don't mind listening to loud music. Plus I have neighbors who blast music from their cars as well.
Also, after telling my dad that I was willing to from my own pocket to have it moved and fixed up, he said it was alright, but I had to also get my mother to agree and talk to my uncle about arranging a date to get it.
As for "getting friends", my reply to PumpJack explains my situation there.

Sounds like things are doable, pending Mom's okay.
Make a clear-eyed assessment of how many people you need to safely move it. I don't have a good idea of the size/weight of the thing, but even if it isn't huge I'd go with a minimum of four including yourself. Most people can come up with two or three helpers, especially with some lead time. Don't be afraid to ask from people you might know less well than the usual go-to friends. I've been known to help out a friend of a friend a time or two. (FTR I live in the Atlanta metro area...)
How far away is it? If it's in the same general area U-haul has pickups & vans for ~$20/day plus mileage and gas if you return it to the same place you rented from.

New place to closest U-Haul is almost five miles.
U-haul to uncle's house is two and a half miles.
and from Uncle's house to my new place, it's about seven miles.
So in all, it's a roughly 20 mile trip, factoring in the return of the truck to the U-haul place.
As for getting people that will help move it, my dad said he'd help out, so I got half the people I need. I could also call on my brother in law (who's a bit on the "burly" side) when he has some free time from work.

So nominal U-haul cost for a pickup/van should be $40-50 for rental, mileage and gas. Be sure to reserve it for more than the minimum 4 hours, to cover unforeseen delays. If your insurance doesn't cover rental vehicles go for the option that covers the U-haul and anything in it, just in case of an accident. You may have a perfect driving record, but there are some real idiots on the road and you can't always avoid them.
Will it need to go up/down stairs at either end? Will it fit through the doors? I've taken doors off their hinges to fit things through.
More advice on actually moving it is available once you get your mom's approval.

Spoiler:
I have yet to get my driver's license, so the one driving will be either my dad or brother-in-law. My dad also said that was going to get a medium-sized truck to move our fridge and stove, and if I was willing to split the costs for it, the organ, so that kills two birds with one stone.
As for the actual transporting process, it will first have to go down the three steps of my uncle's rear patio (its slightly wider than the door so it'll have to be tiled sideways) before it can be put on the truck. Once it's over at my house, it will have to go down eight steps to get down into the basement, with a 90 degree turn coming up before the last two.
Also, I finally got my mom's approval. After being told it's a waste of money several times, of course.

Spoiler:
Spring for an appliance hand truck rental, they have roller things on the back to help with steps. A 10' cube truck would be plenty big but doesn't have a built-in ramp, so consider a 14' truck which does.
All trucks should have rails inside for tiedowns so things don't shift or tip. Remember pads, unzipped sleeping bags work well but you can get them from U-haul as well.

What is that monster?!I think it's a Hammond Colonnade, though the key/slide/button colors don't quite match. If so it's probably the 1979 model, it was revised in 1982.

EDIT: Yep, it's a Colonnade.

Several periods of hellish lifting, a fun ride in the back of a pickup truck, the dismantling of a makeshift handrail and on cut big toe later...
My brother in law, may dad and I finally got the organ into my new house.
Where it shall most likely stay, even if we decide to move again.
Here it is, sitting in the basement:
Also after doing some research, I found out that it's actually one of early models of the Aurora series, which was launched around the mid-70's
Anyway, as of now the poll is null and void, along with this thread.

That will be worth a fair bit either now or in the future to collectors. And even then, they are fun to play. Good choice in keeping it.

The harsh answer is, and I apologize in advance: Your aunt is dead, odds are she doesn't care either way so you might as well get if of your mind and move on.
Still, even though I have no sort of beliefs, (and I forgot the check if you do) I'm not the kind of person who feels absolutely no remorse in throwing away a gift someone deemed precious and sentimental. If you care about that, just arrange to get it and be done with it. If you have the space and U-Haul is close, just get it done.
