So how do you organize your collection?

Very simple question. How do you organize your hentai collection. I normally just make 1 folder that's named by the year. I then make another folder with a number on it and fill that folder with manga hentai...when it gets full enough I simple make another folder with the following number.
Example:
Folder '2010' contains 'batch 1, batch 2, batch 3, batch 4, batch 5, images, videos'

Well we're clearly talking about doujinshi here, but we have to take into account images, hentai anime and other things too. I have recently been organizing my folders (which are written in Japanese) to make it a bit neater, but it's all complex.

Within my 'anime' folder there is a folder named 'hentai'. Within this hentai folder are more folders titled: 'Anime', 'Images', 'Games', 'Visual Novels', 'Doujinshi' and 'Miscellaneous'. And within those folders are a string of other folders.

To keep on topic, in my doujinshi folder I have folders named 'Original', 'Genre' (which contains my yuri collection, and other specific genres I like to keep together), 'Series', a separate folder for 'Nise Midi Dorono Kai's' work (which is pure awesomeness), and 'doujinshi I have not yet read'. I really need to sort out the 'original' folder to list by name of artists.

My digital collection is just what the files name are a-b-c. My psychical collection is sorted by jail time to no jail time and by Alphabetically genre.. the jail times are whatever i read last.. by Alphabetically and locked in trunk under my bed with my woman's loli and shota doujins too.

By genre.I keep my incest hentai in one folder my tifa hentai in another and so on.

I organize mine like this

Gallery folders mean hentai

Picture folders mean non hentai

CG means CG

I just put that shit in a folder with my wallpapers.

Alphabetized. Is there any other sane way to do it?

First of all, I separate manga and doujin from just free pictures, two different folders.

I organize each by tag though. For manga and doujin, I'll generally list the basic genre as well as the mangka if they are well known enough that I recognize the name.

For actual pictures, the tags are more extensive because windows actually gives you a tagging system that is useable.

I actually OCD's out one day and actually took down stats if you are curious. They are way out of date, and it is MUCH smaller than most people's collections, as I semi-regularly try and trim the fat with all marginal pictures to TRY and keep up the quality of what I actually keep. It generally means that I only have pictures I really like saved, although I do miss some. Here are the stats, based on tag:

in each folder I keep up to 1000 images
Not more than that
I have 36 folders so far

By series, if they are original works, by artist

I save my favorites to fakku and just read them that way...

Alphabetically is the only way to go for me, I can't find shit anywhere on my computer otherwise, let alone my hentai folder.

I don't have much doujins, so I just have one folder for those. Hentai images however, I organize them in folders by the type/fetish or category or whatever.

I have quite the system going. Artists with a ton of works (like Kisaragi Gunma) have their own folders in my main H folder. Outside of that I have "other" which is divided into categories (i.e. Very Vanilla, Little Weird, Fetish, Meh, Kitty!, etc.).
Back in my main H folder I also have a folder called 'Favorites' that has my, well, favorites in it (Shocking Pink, Knee Socks Girl, etc.). Each of these folders is replicated on my external and I transfer things after a month or so so my computer folder is never too big. Favorites stay on my main hard drive though.

As for standalone images, I just have a folder called 'Assorted' and they go in there and just kinda, I dunno, clump

By genre but I don't save shit anymore.

I organize mine behind a hidden folder so no one stumbles upon it.

Then it's seperated into anime, doujins, hentai anime, pics, games.

Then by download date.

I organize them by the Artist if it's doujin. If pictures, I leave them all in one folder. Others like anime or stuff I put them in separate folders by series.

WHY is there no option "lol, I dont organize" :( Cause I dont do that, I know I should, but I'm just too lazy. My hentai is just all over and everywhere. On desktop in random folders, in "my documents", in F, in D, in G and so on D:
I'm going to organize my stuff once I get a 2tb hard drive, but thats not anytime soon, so now my porn is everywhere for everyone to see (but me and my bf are the only ones who use this computer)

On this computer it's by series, and then alphabetically. Original works I keep all in a single folder, also alphabetized.

On my older computer that I do not have at my house at the moment, it was more like Genre>Anime Series>Artist>Title.


But I have like 12,000 individual doujins on that one, including the tanks and so on. So I needed to keep it nice and organized. Took me a long while to get it tidy.

i dont have that many so i just throw them in a folder and the computer alphabetizes them for me..... im going to go reorganize my folder now.
