Socially Awkward
Are you socially awkward?

[font=Verdana][color=green]One of the things I hate more than being in socially awkward situations is pity. I'm not saying I'm socially awkward, just pointing out that this is a pitying thread.
Well, I'm not socially awkward now, but I was kinda shy when I was younger. But, that was to do with being in the shadow of my brother, so that's no longer the case now. Besides, doing a Law Degree has made me curtail any doubts I ever had about being socially awkward.

I'm usually socially awkward around new people. It takes a few conversations with the person before I don't feel awkward. Even if there is someone I know in the group, the rest of the group intimidates me, and therefore I tend to no participate and just listen.

Maybe whoever's doing it wants to keep Neko's rep as a prime number.
But that seems unlikely.
I'd fix it, but I already used mine up today.

[font=Verdana][color=green]Tbh, the moaning about negative rep deserves negative rep XD But, in that post, I don't see anything that deserved it. I would equalise it, but I gave it away already.

I am very confident in social situations. I like people, so I am not shy around others if it is a gathering or event. I don't go around trying to talk to everyone at a party or would be the one to make a toast at a wedding, but I don't get nervous if I'm the center of attention. I used to be on dance line in high school, so I'm used to having a thousand pair of eyes looking at me.I do get nervous in more intimate situation like if I have to meet someone's family. Also, if someone is acting awkward, I start feeling nervous. It is sort of like when you see someone get embarrassed publicly, you sort of feel embarrassed for them.

I always feel awkward when im with friends of friends because I dont know what their like and what their interests are (They tend to act like loudmouth 'roidhead wankers too so im a bit put off by that also their perma-tans are a sight for sore eyes) so I tend to be the guy that talks to only the friends he knows in the group.
Must be hard to strike up a conversation with me because im unresponsive and 'on edge', I'll be nice to them but not at all buddy-buddy if you know what I mean.
Takes a while for the ice to break with me but after I know that your not out to steal my sandwich we're all good!

There are only ever 2 reasons that I find myself in socially awkward situations;
-If there is more than 3 people in the conversation, I just can't keep up with the conversation. I always seem to say something just as someone else is saying something at the exact same moment. It gets annoying.
-If they don't have any interests that I can relate too. IE. Kanye Wests new album. I don't keep up to date on music, so I can't really contribute to the conversation.

I'm very shy when I'm in groups. I just like to talk to one person specifically instead of a bunch of people. :P

Hopelessly so. I always have been. It's gotten better over the years, but there's always those "wtf?" moments where I'm probably visibly uncomfortable.

im shy towards girls and people i just meet. once you get to know me im a nice guy but people tell me im a jerk. my bestfriend says im too truthful, dont think what im gonna say through and im not considerate towards people feelings. but this is one of the reasons my bestfriend loves about mePretty much me in a sense, but instead sometimes when someone talks to me I just tell them I don't like talking to people, they shut up for a few seconds and then I tell them I am joking (which I am) and start talking. But I have a tendency to say what's on my mind without thinking, hence people call me a jerk all the time... It slips sometimes, but people take it so seriously...

HA, all of your posts have been deleted.
Anyway, I would say I am socially awkward mainly around people I do not know - and I don't want to know. For example, when I'm in class and I am paired up with someone, or a group, that I don't know, I say very little because I work better on my own. I'm not really up for discussing the work, I just want to do it.
When I am around people I am quite familiar with then I'm fine, but I find it difficult talking to new people. I like doing my own thing so I'm not interested in making new friends. I am actually a really nice person, I won't say anything horrible to anyone and I will smile and act friendly and try to say something, so as to not make them feel awkward, because I don't want them to, but I never really know what to say. It's just how I am.
