Some computer buying advice
0
So I'm trying to get a new computer to mainly play some games on Steam I have but am not sure if it's worth it. I don't know too much about computers so I won't try to buy every part individually (at least not until I learn more about computers, maybe upgrade my computer 1 part at a time). There was a sale on Newegg for this computer:
A6-Series APU A6-3620(2.2GHz)
4GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity
Windows 8
AMD Radeon HD 6530D
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883148129
Think this would be good enough for now? The most hardware intensive games I want to play at the moment are:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Alan Wake
Far Cry 2
Mass Effect 2
Dead Space
F.E.A.R 2
The main thing is I'm on a pretty tight budget (there's only so much minimum wage can get you) so I'm trying to keep it under $500
edit: on a side note, do you think this is worth it

For that kind of budget I'd go with something along the lines of this or something. It'll be powerful enough for your gaming needs and more. Unless you want a pre-built one since you're still learning about computers.I'd say get 1 stick of ram (4gb) so he can upgrade later with another stick.

You going to need something a little more powerful for those games, also it's better to build your own pc, the experience helps, I can help you through skype like i helped iamnotchrishansen.
It's pretty easy and cheaper too, we worked around a 500 dollar budget and he is happy with it.
Check out this guide it's really helpful

yea sure that would be cool. but to be frank i only have 200 dollars right now, so this is more of a "planning to buy in the next month or 2" thing than buying it right now.

I only kind of want a pre-built one because I've never built one myself, but if I could get peoples help about which parts are compatible with which and how to tell that would be great. Also, around 8 gigs ram is basically the standard for most gaming computers right?

Yeah that's true.
And yes 8gb ram is the standard these days, but you won't be utilizing more than 4gbs anyways... Well, I don't. I barely touch 3.3gb of usage with chrome, skype, and various other programs running in the background while gaming. But 8gb is always good to have.

I'm using 4 gigs right now.
But that's just me, maybe he won't be using more than 4 gigs but it's safe to get 8 gigs for future games you may want to try.

RAM is dirt cheap and having more is one of the few things that can come handy in everyday usage of the PC, especially with Superfetch (Windows pre-loads your most frequently used applications).
...so frankly, I'd buy as much as the MOBO can take.

well to be honest, the game I'm going to play most on the computer is probably league of legends. the computer I'm using now is just so bad that even on very low graphics qualtiy at a lower resolution and no shadows, it still has framerate drops (only most of the time it is 30 fps).
still though, i want to at least play the games that i have listed. of games that are not on the list i might plan to play would probably be Diablo 3 and Dark Souls

Well in this case only 2 ram slots on this MOBO because it needs to be as cheap as 500 dollars.
