Song of the day
0
Bored so im gonna do this, your choice if you want to listen or not. Going in alphabetical order im going to be listing a song ever day. Imma try and cover a wide range of genres from folk to metal to trance. If doswillrule can do a dubstep of a day why can't i have one!?
First up Anesthetize by Porcupine Tree. One of my favourite songs ever - 17 mins so it's a bit long but the fastest 17 mins you've ever heard gone past. Pretty much the best song of our generation imo. Genre's rock.

I haven't listened to the OP song yet, but I felt the need to point out that this isn't a general submission thread, at least not from what I read. And if you're going to post songs you like, at least give a description, genre and reasons, otherwise people (like me at least) will not watch them.

And OP's song could have been divided into at least 3 separate songs. However, despite its length, it was a very good track.

Had a hard time choosing what song to go with today, quite a lot of good ones start with the letter B but in the end i decided to go with perhaps my favourite song of all time. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
Pretty self explanatory this one, the song itself is a cult following, Bohemian Rhapsody supplements the greatness and wonder that was Freddie Mercury. My personal favourite part of the song would be the eargasm solo by Brian May.

Live at Wembley in that Queen video. I know because I own the DVD. They put on a really good show makes me mad that I can't go listen to Freddie live.

Guys wtf are you doing. SERIOUSLY MOTHERFUCKERS DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ;
Read the OP post for fucks sake. If you're going to be posting in this thread at least follow my rules -
POST A SONG OF THE DAY THAT STARTS WITH THE LETTER CORRELATING.
We're currently on the letter "C" So songs starting with the letter "C" ONLY
I haven't been active as of late so this can be a community thing, everyday follows onto the next letter, so tomorrow start posting songs that start with the letter "D" ONLY - it follows alphabetical order.
Post a description of why you like the song and why people should listen to it and the genre of the song as well. I encourage all users to listen to all songs posted; i really want this to be a place where people discover new music they might like. Feedback would be awesome as well.

Most Fakku users are dumb Game. They can't read anything past the topic title. Anyway, see as how you posted this at
Apr 14, 2011 at 2:40 am: My time zone, I will continue with C.
Genre: Progressive metal. A song that's appeared a few times on fakku. Starts off with a tranquil beginning and end, but picks up the pace in the middle. Songs listed with "The" I do not consider to be listed under T. Anyway, I was once stranded at my college and had to walk 4 hours home. I had this on repeat the whole time, great way to pass the time in your mind.

You can never go wrong with DT. Good call, Gugu.
It's April 15 in my timezone now, so I'll post a D.
Genre: Horror punk/alternative rock.
The crunchy guitar at the intro really sets off the mood in this song for me. The tempo isn't that fast, though the nuance is a bit different in the chorus. If you like punk, or even rock in general, give Schoolyard Heroes a try. They're one of those bands that are original in their concept. It's a shame they're on an indefinite hiatus, though. After checking again, they broke up for sure.

Cleaned up the thread.
Still April 15th.
Song: Dread and the Fugitive Mind
Genre: Thrash Metal
The song is about introspection and looking within one's self for true and proper meaning.
"It's about judgment. The great paradox is if there isn't a God and you live your life like a good person, you haven't lost anything. If there is a God and you lived your life like a dirtbag, you're screwed. Basically what I'm saying is, 'What if there's no judgment?' I think a lot of times people have gotten up on the moral hilltop and yelled down to the masses down at the bottom of the valley about their spiritual superiority and it just alienates you." (Mustaine, 2001)

Spoiler:
April 20th in my timezone.
Genre: Indie rock.
This song is pretty nice to chill out to. The bass in this song stands out, in a good way. Track is off their 2006 album, Dreams. If you're not big on indie rock, maybe this'll change your mind.

24th April: M
Know i haven't been posting much sorry ;D, imma try and make it up just been real busy! Had a hard time choosing a song so i'll post two songs to make up for my lack of activity in this thread :)
First up is Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs. When i first heard this song; it was oddly enough from a guy in the city holding a stereo, at the time i had no idea what the song was. Needless to say i ended up finding it through a video game weeks later. I think what draws you in so about this song is the drum beat; well defiantly for me it was, but most of all it's the vocalist. Karen pretty much outdoes herself in this song and what you get is an end result of an awesome indie rock melody.
Next up is Marooned by Pink Floyd. It's an instrumental, or as i like to call it David Gilmour's crowning symphony. It's basically a guitar solo, but that's a crude way to put it; more like raw emotion, bliss or muse. It's a song that speaks to you more than any words could ever. I often hate using the arbitrary word of soul, but this song gives me that kind of feeling. It's Guitar's Moonlight Sonata.
