Sore Throat

Since there didn't seem to be a Health and Well-being forum, I'll just post this here.

I've been sick for weeks with a high fever and a sore throat. The fever has gone down quite a bit, but I'm still at 98.9. The sore throat on the other hand is not going away. Since asking my friends for support didn't do much, I was wondering what secrets you guys had for alleviating a sore throat.

Personally the trick passed down from my parents to me is something that I question sometimes. The trick my parents told me to use is to gargle a cup of salt water every day after brushing my teeth. This has helped somewhat (or it could be a placebo, what do I know?) but I've been neglecting my health over and over to work and it's been coming back. Now I'm under house arrest and can't leave my room.

I know what your all thinking, Google that ish! But where's the fun in that? SO, tell me guys. What do you do for a sore throat?
