Stigmas and things of the like
0
Everyone has their neurotic tendencies, micro-obsessions, and stigmas, so what are yours? I for example have a strange need to constantly know what time it is, I need to drink in even numbers (ie, 2, 4, 6, 8 beers, 6, 8, 10 shots) volume on anything that displays it in numbers needs to be in some multiple of 5 and I always need to keep my keys in my front right pocket. What strange little things do you feel need to be met in order to feel comfortable?

Wallet in right pocket.
Phone in left pocket.
Hair should always cover ears, if tied up, must be symmetrical.
Always carry a dollar in quarters.
Needs to have a sketchbook on hand or at least paper of some sort.
Constantly clean my glasses.
Constantly checking the time.

I have to actively make my face look not pissed off.
Phone in front left pocket, keys in front right, wallet in back right.
Knife always clipped onto jeans by right hip.
When eating I must eat the same amount on both sides (i.e. one piece on the right then one on the left and so on).
I pop my knuckles without even thinking about it.

Always have to have things in even numbers. if i'm sanding I will pace constantly and not even notice, even if I'm in the middle of a conversation. People get very annoyed by this.

If I relax for too long, people say my face looks pissed off.
If I think about cracking my neck/fingers/toes/whatevers, then I wait 3 seconds before I do it.
Whenever I yawn, I sing the five-note sequence from the Metroid series.
I have the tendency to tap my fingers against everything.

If I'm wearing a collared shirt, I'm always checking if my collar is worn right / not curled or raised.
I always bring a ballpen no matter what or where I'm going to.

Symmetry or asymmetry in things. When drawing/doodling for example, the drawing will always end up with a bunch of scribbles trying to make it as right angled and symmetric or square as possible. If it has curves then it has to have radial symmetry. If I can't make the symmetry work then it has to tessellate.
I count while walking if not deep in thought, count the number of bricks/floor tiles/etc when bored.

Same as you two. I check that my pants are zipped when I realize I was daydreaming while I was dressing and can't remember if I zipped it.
Also, keys go with phone, chapstick goes with wallet.
I tend to scratch the back of my head when I'm nervous (Son Goku style) and I bite my fingernails when I'm bored.

I always feel the need to adjust my watch. Even if it hasn't moved at all, I just move it around.
Also, I bite my nails sometimes. Dunno if that counts, but I hate how I always catch myself a little late.

I have a fixation on symmetry. A lot of the things I create end up being symmetrical.
I have to sleep with my back against a wall, my head pointed towards the door. If I have my back exposed to open air, it takes about 5 minutes for me to have a panic attack. I for some reason... feel like something will grab me, if I'm not alert.
