Child of Samael
It came to me... why do people buy stuff premade when it's cheaper and better to do it yourselves.

Its the same reason why people buy premade burger patties, they are easier, even if it tastes better when you make it yourself, they just dont want to take the time to make it themselves. delicious ideas btw.

I will admit that I feel bad when buying stuff I can make myself. But sometimes you're just too lazy, or don't have the time, ingredients or tools to do so. Plus the store bought stuff will keep longer because of the preservatives, so if it's something you don't use all the time (like for me and mayo) it is more economical to buy it rather than make your own and then watch it spoil.
But anyway, some do-it yourself stuff that I actually use all the time:
Galbi/kalbi sauce:
1 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1-3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp fresh garlic, minced
1-2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
2 tbsp mirin/sake/dry white wine
handful of green onions, finely chopped
1 crushed chili (optional)
Tonkatsu sauce:
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
2-4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp apple sauce
2-4 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp dijon mustard
pepper and/or other spices to taste

Galbi or Kalbi is a Korean beef dish. It's actually for a marinade, though I call it sauce because I use it for stir-frying as well. Tonkatsu sauce is for...well, tonkatsu. But you can also use it on other breaded and fried stuff with great results. I even use it as a salad dressing sometimes, if watered down with a bit of rice vinegar.
