Iv had a couple, I dont know if i would call it "worth it" its just one of those things that happen during the summer.

Take what life sends you and enjoy it while you can. Nothing is permanent in this world. Gotta make the best of what you get. If you cherish the time you had then keep it in your heart.

Not my thing. If I'm looking for relationship then it's something that I would like to last a little longer than two/three months.
Short romances just don't do it for me.

As much as I love long term relationships I could see a summer fling as being nice and fun. I could only do it with someone I kinda like though because if I get heavily invested chances are I'll want more.
But it sounds really fun to do in your life once or twice.

Waste of time.Money and effort, if your actually trying to work something out. After all, it's a summer fling.

My take on it is that if you have one, don't expect anything to come of it and just enjoy it. If it turns long-term, then that would be a nice turn of events. I think it should be thought of as, like Firstbornnyc said, "just one of those things that happen during the summer."

Whether or not it's worth it depends of course on what you're looking for. :p
Even if, say, you're looking for a future life partner and you part ways in September, you could find an unexpected result. Maybe you won't get exactly what you wanted in the first place, but other good things could come of it -- a new friend, trying something new that you end up loving, a new outlook on life, etc.
You can't evaluate whether an action or event is "worthwhile" before or at the time you're doing it. You can estimate, but you'll never truly know the end result. You've got to look back at it later in life.

I think as long as it's clear for both sides it's just a Summer Fling it's okay.
It's really harsh to actually fall in love with someone just to find out later you were just a summer fling..

hell's yeah they are possible. but i don't think you know it's a fling until it's over. some relationships naturally end at 2-3 months anyway..
