Super Robot Wars Z2: Hakai-Hen and Sasai-Hen

So...it's been out for a while and while it is a video game, this is the mother of all mecha games. Has anyone been playing it? I've been fangasming so much from this game, it's crazy. Usually, I don't replay SRWs, but Z2 has been the lone exception so far. Code Geass? Gundam 00? MOTHERFUCKING GURREN LAGANN?! HELL YES!!!

But it doesn't have the SRX or Banpreios.

Sasai-Hen is likely to have the Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and besides, the Brasta is a surprisingly awesome RR, especially the melee variant. Also, Crowe is a pretty lovable Original for once. He might officially be young, but it's nice to have the experienced type every now and then.

The budget ran to TTGL and Nu Gundam. Just look at their attack animation.

TTGL isn't in...yet. Nu Gundam definitely had awesome new animations to include Last Shooting.

What the hell is last shooting? Do you mean the dynamic kill animation for it's fin funnel attack?

Seems like Banpresto is making a lot of fancandy as of late. I personally would like to see some more OG content. And not that OG Saga nonsense.

On my second playthrough at this moment. On first playthrough I've used ranged Brasta, 11/11 B(lol) Crowe and picked super robot routes Shin Mazinger, Dai-Guard, Godmars, Trider. Now on second playthrough I'm focusing on 'real' route with Gundam 00, Macross cast and pick Meele Brasta.

And Amuro, oh Amuro. I got him shot down by that damn dimensional dinosaur on his first appearance because I kinda overestimated his kickassery; he go down with ONLY ONE HIT? lol

Fortunately, I did a quick save just before I move Amuro (talk about newtype instinct woot), but man, how am I supposed to know he'll go down with only one hit at full HP?

Those dimensional dinosaurs are really annoying, with their good dodge and hit, and status attacks.

Amuro isn't really that fantastic considering there are quite a few real pilots with better stuff then him. Damage wise he's pretty bad, since he has only hotblood instead of the usual soul seishin that he normally gets. And his ace bonus is so-so considering Quattro's ace bonus is pure kick ass in comparison.

Last Shooting is when Amuro was in the Gundam and fired one last shot upwards to down the Zeong's head. It's surprising that they incorporated it as Amuro's Dynamic Kill. I will say that Amuro appears so late that he's really not terribly useful, asides from all the other more awesome mechs to choose.

I dunno, but I think Amuro is one of the most useful pilots in the game, I've used him and the Nu Gundam ever since he appeared with Quattro. He is one of the only few pilots that come naturally with Attack again (Kei from Orguss being the other one), so you can pump his skills stat and he can even trump those Dimensional beasts, or you can also give him continuous movement for more bad assery XD. Upgrade his Nu Gundam a few notches and he is a dodge king, paired with his Ace bonus,(well admittedly Quattro is still better in that regard.)

On the other hand the Valkyries got the short end of the stick here...T_T

True, but Setsuna's Continuous Movement plus Trans-Am has him ranked higher than Amuro. At the same time, you get him really early. As much as I like ZEUTH, they seem to have the short end of the stick really, due to showing up late. Amuro and Quattro are so late in the game, they just don't compare to people I've been leveling up already.

This is completely false, Amuro is over rated here, and Im not yapping my mouth without substantial proof here. Aside from joining uber late, attack again is useless, why? First off, even though Amuro has naturally high skill stats, it doesn't change the fact that Dimension beats have godly skill stats and having waste shitload of points at least 30 even for high skill pilot like Kira. Because end game dimension beast have mid 220 skill stats. To use attack again is just not worth it and it doesn't help that you can can only activate attack again when you attack, it would have been more useful if you could do it during enemy phases.

Damage wise, horrendous, besides having low base damage in the Nu Gundam, he has only hotblood as I mention where else most other real pilots wold have soul like Kira, Setsuna, Crow, Karen,Alto,Heero and even Lelouch. Ace bonus it's not bad but compared to quattro's no evasion penalty ace bonus. And trumping Dimensions beast? He can't even kill with attack again even with 2x fin funnels at max upgrade with practically all points( 3 playthroughs Worth of pp) pumped into shooting.And having to max upgrade his unit for Psycho Frame is just stupid. Previous games, he has it the moment you get him, in short he has no real upgrade bonus to speak off.

Probbaly the only thing good about Amuro is his low cost hotblood of 30 sp.

Amuro, oh Amuro, even he's one of my favorites, gotta agree on he and Nu Gundam being underpowered this time. Hope he'll get better in Saisei-hen.

And yeah, I have to agree the attack again ability is not really helpful especially against those dimensional monsters. Though in my opinion it suits Gainer who has Gamer/Game Champ ability.

Then there's continuous movement, it's really broken yo. I'm giving it to Aoi, Ryoma and Simon. And they just keep killing everything in map.

Also, I hear someone has found sprite data for Sazabi and God Scrander. Sazabi! Upgrade for Quattro or.... CCA plot in next game?

Or even better than Sazabi, NIGHTINGALE. That beast is very god damn badass at Real Robot Battle line. I only hope that there's Hi Nu in the 2nd part.

Anyways, the game isn't even that hard, even if it claims to be in hard mode already XD So a little challenge with underpowered chars ain't half bad.

Has anyone here gotten the Tornado Pack for Alto? I'm on my second play through right now. And I don't want to make a mistake ever again. At first I chose Ranka 2 times, and I didn't get it in stage 45. Alto wasn't Aced by that time. Has anyone confirmed the conditions?

I still haven't gotten it, but supposedly, you need to ACE Alto and pick the same girl twice, which means you have to choose the Macross route most of the time.
