Excellent tactic!
I would suggest a booby trap with the combat knife if you feel the presence of your pursuers.
I think a falling death trap or a trip wire knife might do the trick. Can be used to kill animals to.
Pits take a very long time to make. Snares are a lot quicker. Even then, you'd have to be quite sure of your assailants path.
There's also tensioning a branch to smack guys in the face, but it's kinda wasted if you don't get the treat of seeing the schmuck get walloped.
True. If everything doesn't go according to plan you might get killed... Always come up with plans B and C. But aside from that if possible i would bunk in on top of a tree.

Weak. I was thrown in the middle of the jungle in Kalimantan with just a knife ans a bag of salt for a month for survival training.

If the answer is yea then you should have no problems with this scenario. But since you were trained. I would like to know, what method of approach would you conduct in this scenario?

Pit vipers and them other poisonous bastards are actually far more dangerous than clear danger like pursuers or hungry carnivores. At the very least you can still evade and run away from them, or so some counterattack. This is clearly different when facing poisonous threats. Y'see, most of these creatures likes to hide in the blind spots and such, and coupled with dense jungle and little to no sunlight, you probably will understand what I'm talking about. Also map made this much easier.
Well, enough bout that and move on to real thing. First thing first, you mentioned being surrounded by hungry carnivores and such. Point one: What are these carnivorous animals, and what are their numbers? This is important because different predators has different behavior and hunting strategy, and just by knowing this your chance of survival will increase by several fold. Also don't think of "defeating" the beasts, at most just attack for the sake of escaping.
Now let's just assume those beasts and whatnot are out of the way. The next most important thing to do is look for water source. This is ridiculously vital in any kind of survival scenario. Not only it will replenish your moisture intake, river and such can serve as important landmark. Do note however, it is extremely dangerous to be near a river during the rainy season due to the chance of flash flood. And because you did not mention whether this is a rainy season or not on your initial scenario, I'll just assume it's not to make things simple. At this point, having a map is a real godsend, as you can somehow pinpoint your current location with the help of the landmarks you've found. Banzai for the map. Fuck yeah.
Okay, on to third. Now you have secured water source and we have rough estimation of where you are. Let's tread into the next problem: Food. While I might have quite some knowledge on edible and poisonous plants, let's just assume you have zero knowledge about this (seeing that you were kidnapped and such). But thankfully, this is a jungle. A tropical rainforest to boot. Meaning there would be an abundant source of fruits there. As long as you can recognize fruits in general, I don't think you'd have real problem here. I don't really recommend this due to the scenario restriction, but if you got the skill and want some meat, spearing fish from the shallow part of the river can work as well. Where to get the spear? Simply sharpen the edges of sticks and branches that you deem suitable. Do remember though, do not make a fire out in open during night time. It attracts predators and shit. So if you want to have some meat, do it in daytime or inside a cave. Still don't really recommend it because the smell can also attract predators. Also do not need to worry about the fire will give you out to your pursuers. The very fact that you were left with a map and a combat knife alone means that you're already under surveillance, or that they somehow have your trail at best. Should not get high hopes for this.
Water, current position and food source has been secured. Next, shelter. If you can survive so far, then this task would be much easier. Any place would be fine, but somewhere inside a cave or something would be best. For bedding, gather some leaves and that's it. Do make sure not to get too far off the river or whatever landmark you decide. If you can't find a cave, top of the tree is acceptable. Be aware of tree snakes though. Also, it is much advised that you sleep in under two hours at a time. This decreases the possibility of being ambushed or sneak attacked.
Last point, keep on moving. Don't stay in the same place for too long. It's great if you can cover 10 km in a day, but 5 km a day is fine. Just be sure to be as stealthy as possible, you never know what lurks in the corner. Always have the knife in your hand whenever you start moving.
Well, basically that. Feel free to add or whatever shit you want. I don't really care.

Well, The kind of carnivorous animals im talking about is crocodiles and etc. Also, there are ways to survive a venomous bite by viper but black mamba is a 10 min kill in Africa so you're right on that one and your survive tactics is very close to what i had in mind. But you still forgot about the pursuers. If they have a trail on you then what?

Crocodiles are easy to run away from. Also practically impossible, as they don't venture far from the water, and you never said a thing about being close to water. Plus, don't give me etc shit. It's impossible for more than one species of predators to gather in one place peacefully and attack the same target. Improve your scenario first. Or at the very least, study your shit first.
Also based on previous posts I reeeeally doubt my tactics is "very close" to what you had in mind.
EDIT: Like I said before, you were left with a map and a combat knife. It's utterly ridiculous to think that you're not under their surveillance already. I see you don't really read my post.

Crocodiles in Africa also hide near the shallow end and if hungry enough they will merge from the water and try to attack. And its not impossible to be hunted by 2 species for example you're being chased not only by men but potentially predators. The scenario is fine as it is. You just have to use your imagery and put your place in this guy shoes. It doesn't matter if it rains or not. Im asking you what survival tactics you would use to overcome your physical, mental, and emotional problems. (if any)
Also, i did read your posts. Kinda would be disrespectful to just ignore it right?

... Now I see why people calls you stubborn and ignorant. I was hoping that at the very least you can understand what I'm saying. Do learn to fully read someone's post before replying. Or do I have to point out every point for you to understand?

Find a high ground, scout your way. Decide which way you're gonna take. Find a potential source for food (river for example). Find a place to camp. Repeat until you arrive at your designated destination.

Its like you say your statements and i contradict them with "what if" I'm not saying your wrong in anyway. Your tactics were told only from an expert point of view but like i said, i left gaps for your imagery and putting your feet in this guys shoes. You have said nothing on how to deal with the guys trailing you except just to not think about it and attack for escaping. Just like me you left gaps for people to ponder on it but like it or not these people matter in the scenario and must get dealt with other than just attacking for escape.

Find dry wood, burn it and make a makeshift charcoal filter, use whatever materials I can find to fashion a canteen of sorts, water is an immediate concern. Follow waterways for easy navigation and to insure that I have adequate water. Search for bird eggs, all bird eggs are edible. If I don't know what it is I won't eat it. 100% certainty or it could kill me before anything else. Move by day seeking refuge above the ground to avoid large predators and ground walking insects. Put up small barricades to inconvenience predators enough to discourage them from taking interest. Move slowly enough to not be in obvious places and backtrack regularly. Be careful, be smart, be safe.

Fuck yeah.If their is more than one river or that river has numerous twist and turns, don't you need a second land mark to verify at what point? I don't know myself thats why I ask. As well, isn't verifying the distance the map covers/how far out the map pans important and requiring a second land mark?
OT:
Spoiler:
Knowing what I know of Africa though, I don't think I can get past part one with the mosquito's.
Realistically, I'd probably die day one, I don't have the body that could survive there or personal experience in the wild. But if satistics don't matter let say the hypothetical one in the spoil.
