Taking things the wrong way

We've all had conversations, where somebody says something and you misinterpret it into something completely wacky. Let's here the best stories you've got about this.
For me, it would have to be the time when I was chatting with one of my better friends who is a girl, we were talking about our writing class and how we both wanted to read each others stories. I told her that my story was due in a few days and she could read it then, and she responded with "I'll be waiting eagerly." and winked.
Cue to me getting flustered and embarrassed.

I tried to tell people they're not going to use my computer by telling them the password is "nothing". They thought I meant the password is literally "nothing".

There are so many I don't even bother remembering.Like that? Yes. Plenty of times. I laugh rather than get flustered, though.

Oh yeah. Happens a lot, particularly on the internet. Innately, it is difficult to show emotion and connotation with what you say on the internet, and it leads to trouble here and there.
I got into a big fight with a friend about a month ago over something I said, and her taking it wrong. Granted our relationship had become rocky for other reasons as well, but it was partly responsible for us no longer talking to each other. Shame too. Loved the hell out of her, but things ended on a very sour note.

The comedian Margaret Cho did a show at my college recently...
She talked about how once when she meant to "sext" a partner "I'm about to come!", she sent the message to her MOM.
Who replied... "OOOOOOOOOOH GOOD YOU COMING HOME? I MAKE DINNER. WHAT TIME?" etc.

One time this guy was hitting on me and I didn't really like him so I was just trying to steer clear of any conversation that would lead him into thinking that I do. So we ended up talking about where our families are from and he was like "my family lives in the south" and I replied "oh, I loooooove going down south!" and he chuckled and got this sly look on his face and I proceeded to face palm.
