[TCF March] Lemon Chicken and Vegetarian Fried Rice
0
Well, it's the 100th International Women's Day today, and I celebrated this day of feminism by slaving away at a hot stove. What, you say? A feminist in the kitchen?!? Feminism isn't just about getting women out of the house, you know! It's about enabling and celebrating women's choices, whether that keeps them in the kitchen or out of it. ANYWAY, enough politics, and onto the cooking.
Vegetarian Fried Rice
I basically followed this recipe, but used mixed vegetables instead of just peas.

Lemon Chicken
We had a surplus of lemons in the house (damn lemon tree!), and I am sooooo sick of lemonade, so this seemed like a good way to use them.

Loves it :D
And it's perfectly acceptable to celebrate Women's Day in the kitchen. Lol... I slept for most of it.

Wow - looks nice
(I was actually planning to make this as well, I'll have to think of something different now :P)

I support your views on woman's day. :)
I hear far too often about the injustices and not the freedoms. So props for that.
As for your dish, I came into it with a bias I'm afraid, so I'll be the first to admit I am not giving your dish a fair shake. I have had a lot of chicken chunk and rice type dishes of late, so to me, this just reminds me of panda express or my room mate's cooking.
While I am sure it is likely to taste way better than either of those, I find I can not hunger for it at this time. To be fair, although you do not get my vote, I am pretty sure your in the lead. Your presentation is done excellently. You even have good lighting.
