That guy who's not listening

I like Eroge, Hentai. ALL OF IT. My boyfriend hates it. (weird huh?) Well, he dumped me yesterday, he said he didn't know if he loved me, and he didn't know why he was dumping me. But he was nice to me the whole day. He even teased me a little. But nothing changed, he still dumped me.

Do you think it's because of the Anime I watch? Or is he just being a dick?

Can't answer that question unless you ask him is it's because i like eroge or what? if it is then screw him and find a nerd fanboy.

People should not judge you on such things.
If he can't accept you for who are then he's not worth worrying about.

More than likely he dumped you because of the eroge and hentai.
But don't take this the wrong way.

Think positive, there are guys out there that would kill to find a girl that enjoys hentai. From knowing a couple myself, it seems that couples who enjoy hentai together do pretty well. I have never seen those two fight at all.

Very important, NEVER beat yourself up over the stuff you enjoy but other people dislike. That is their problem not yours.

Hopefully he is just being a dick. Though dumping someone because of what they like is a dick move as well.

Did you fight often about hentai and eroge? If you didn't, then likely that wasn't the main issue. Maybe he was intimidated by your sexuality and interest in eroge.

I have no idea if he was a dick, and it wouldn't be fair of me to call him such. Feel free to vent though, fakku is a fairly safe venue for that.

This is just my opinion. But maybe he's seeing someone else... or PLANNING to see someone else, but couldn't come up with a valid excuse to break up with you and maybe he's using your love of eroge as an excuse. That's pretty much how I see it... Then again, I haven't seen any situations where someone breaks up with their partner but can't figure out why...

Of course, my point of view is not unlike an unsocial guy watching a party from outside the window (Romance XP: 0pts)...

Confront him and know the truth. If it was some other reason, his loss. If it IS because of your love for hentai, his BIGGER loss. I'm sure you're not into anything freaky, and you planned on being loyal through and through, so he had no reason to dump you. Don't beat yourself up over it too much, there are much better and more considerate guys out there.

Typically you see this situation often in more immature relationships. If you both are relatively young, mid-teens and such, then it would not all be that suprising. It would simply just be a situation of two people who shouldn't have gotten together getting together.

From the sounds of it, it's less "He dumped me for this specific thing." and more "Interests don't match up at all."

You don't have to be copies of each other in a relationship, but you need some common ground in a relationship because if you don't then you won't ever enjoy being together that much and won't want to spend any time together.

Course I could be mistaken about the situation, hard to tell with the limited information.

Did your liking eroge and hentai a source for a lot of fights or animosity? Or was it simply that this was an interest of yours that he could not bring himself to like?

I get the feeling that if hentai was the main reason that motivated him to dump, he would have told you straight out. So this is most likely about something else.



I tend to agree with Takerial on this one. There are a lot of people for whom the first relationships never last that long. In that case, it's not really that you did something wrong. It's just that some people get bored in a relation after a while. They want the excitement of the chase, they want to flirt with other people, etc. This usually gets better with age or experience.

If he doesn't accept all of you for who you are, he's probably not good for you.
Someone who genuinely teases you about being yourself isn't a good match, ever.

Well, the fact he doesn't like eroge, anime and stuff doesn't mean that that's the reason he dumped you.

Sometimes you just stop loving, for no precise reason, it's probably because of a bunch of small things put all togheter (and maybe between those things there are eroges as well, who knows :P )

Still, he was quite honest with you, it's not a common thing this days :P
