[Locked] The Day the Earth Stood Still.

As near as I can tell, it's "The Day the Earth Stood Still" mixed with various pro-environmental messages. :P
Although, you make it sound as if you've never seen it before...

ARGH! I just sent a PM to Max_Omega to delete this topic before someone else posts in it and recreate it in the Entertainment section... all that for nothing.
It's a remake of the novel and is most likely different from the first movie adaptation. Keanu Reeves is in it if that appeals to anyone. From wikipeida:

The first movie came before the novel. Movie was 1951, novel was 1976.
Doesn't really matter, I guess.
But it would probably be better without Keanu Reeves, but I'll still see it.

interesting premise.... but I doubt he could pull it off.
this alien needs to seem "all knowing"......
I'm not sure if he knows enough to tie his own shoes.

Haha, I on the other-hand think he makes the perfect character for an alien. He seems so detached and emotionless...

The original was based on a short story, though a lot was changed.
Thank you, Wikipedia, for random facts that don't really help me at all!
I would like to read the short story that inspired the movie, called "Farewell to the Master" by Harry Bates.

I think I learned that on the History channel, because...I haven't got a life.
But apparently, the producer, Julian Blaustein, didn't like the short story that much, he just liked the central theme of it. But you could probably find the short story on the internet.
