oh man, this is impossible.
I think both of their works are awesome, so here's my vote. FTW
story line = yamatogawa.
style of drawing = gunma.
can we have both as an option? :)
for now gunma takes my vote just becuase his works serves me better. LOL

I like gunma's works but yamatogawa gets my vote.. he has better art and less censorship.. good humor on the stories as well.. maybe we should add yunekura kengo in this poll thread too XD his art is definitely on par with yama and gunma..

Gunma also did Ichigo 100% doujin which is a big plus for me.Hear hear. It was one of his earlier works though so the art wasn't as good as it is now. He also did, what is probably the best I's doujin ever. Wish gunma would draw ichigo doujins again...

†¢ Yamatogawa typically doesn't do really disgusting stuff (not that Gunma does a lot either, but he definitely does more)
define "disgusting stuff" please
Well maybe "really disgusting" is a bit of an exaggeration, but I gotta say that the bits of Gunma's work that involve the girl having sex with old farts or getting jizzed on by a whole town's worth of guys really isn't up my alley at all.
I also agree with others that Yamatogawa's work is usually more lighthearted, which to me, makes it much more attractive.

Its simply amazing to see how this debate went. Nearly 5000 votes later and neither has gained a comfortable lead over the other. We can go on all day making a case for either artist, but at the end of the day, we still wouldn't be able to come out with a clear winner. A great debate indeed.
I doubt we could name a third artist who we can all agree upon is on the level of these two...

Actually, no, I haven't read it because I try to avoid culty/evil type stuff (yes, including Bible Black). There's also a reason I said "usually".

I chose Gunma because it was my first but I'll have a look at Yamotogawa soon and see if it gets my vote too.

Yamatogawa ftw! The way the faces and expressions are drawn conveys the emotions the characters go through. Plus the comedic spin to some of the stories are really good too.

(my first post)
Kisaragi Gunma was the first hentai artist I shared with my boyfriend and I don't know the other guy too well so I voted for Gunma.

My vote goes for Yamatogawa.
Although I feel Gunma's work is more "realistic" I don't find it as erotic or sexually pleasing.

Well for me its Yamatogawa. I think what makes that is actually the eyes in his art (also prefer his storys), it gives a different feeling to it. Dont know how to explain it, its just that in overall i prefer his drawings.
