The human species?

Okay so here's my first serious topic I want to ask you if in your opinion humans deserve to live on this planet as all we seem to do is destroy it and ourselves with it.
0
"When there is nothing left to destroy, you have no choice but to destroy yourself", yeah people do dumb shit, but everything has its flaws, so we just have to get over it and try not to kill each other. Also of course we deserve to live, sorry I'm a little bias considering I am one.
0
Whether we deserve to be on earth or not is irreverent. We're here for the time being, for better or for worse.
0
I always hear people calling other monster or animals (TV) and I begin to think, is "Human" a title that we should be proud to have? We're incredibly complex creatures, both physicly and mentaly, and it's scary how ficle we can be, and easily destroy anything for no apperent reason.
0
humans don't have the right to live at this moment because they are destroying everything they see or want have. And don't think about what happens in the future only some do and they have the right to live the others don't because they are the pieces of shit that don't do any good for this world and only take and never give
0
Humans are always overcome by greed, that's why we're slowly destroying this planet by using up all its resources carelessly and starting endless wars on each other.
So because of that, I say we don't.
We take everything for granted and that won't change any time soon.

I remember a quote from The Day the Earth Stood Still.
"You say we're on the brink of destruction and you're right. But it's only on the brink that people find the will to change. Only at the precipice do we evolve. This is our moment. Don't take it from us, we are close to an answer."
There is a reason for everything. The reason we caused so much destruction was to raise our standards of living; there was no better way. Change is happening, we're closer to the precipice than most people realize. Big changes will take place within the next 50 years...or we're screwed.

Until Some other kind of sentient beings come into light, I can't really say Whether or not we deserve to live. Humans are a classification all of their own. Though one could argue this:
Still, For all the evil things humans have done, there are still certain individuals who are good. To arbitrarily classify humans as evil without considering the exceptions, would be a biased opinion.
From personal experience, most people that I've obsereved are simply uncaring/unwilling to do anything. While there are those I've seen who will help a random stranger, the number of people who don't give a damn outnumbers that. However, I think that people being uncaring is far better than people who go out of their way to make others miserable and cause grief. Perhaps I am lucky, but in my observations of random people in various locations, there have been only a handful of times that I've seen individuals that seek to cause harm to another. Even still, I'd have difficulty classifying these actions as evil, as they have been either pranks, of petty fist fights I've witnessed. And, as I've said, I've seen more individuals either doing something beneficial, or doing nothing at all.

People are scum. i can honestly say i would feel nothing if everyone outside(even a couple inside) my monkey sphere dropped dead. in fact, i kind of hope for it. most people don't deserve to be alive anyway.

According to existentialism philosophy, the universe doesn't give even a tiny bit of damn whether humans exist or not, cuz if humans screw the environmental, they are the ones that are going to die, and the rest of the world will grow over civilization like nothing happened.

The main basis of existentialism is that the world doesn't give a damn about what humans do, meaning all human life is worthless. The only way to escape this is to either kill yourself or project a meaning to your own life.

I see...god my school seriously needs some philosophy classes, also isn't that a bit like Nihilism, life has no meaning blah blah blah.

Nihilism is an extremist branch of Existentialism which basically says you should kill yourself because nothing matters and nothing is real.

I need to correct that existential nihilsm doesn't say that you should kill yourself, it says that everything is pointless therefore it doesn't matter if you kill yourself but at the same time it is pointless to kill yourself.

Wait, isn't existentialism focus on why we are here and not the idea that we mean nothing. It seems to me that there may have been misconception here. More importantly, existentialism is real just the belief/thought process that the individual gives their life meaning through their actions in life. In other words, a person defines their own existence through their actions and beliefs. Also, nihilism is NOT a branch of existentialism. They are two different systems that can be crossed.
Now, back to the point of this topic. People are simply animals. There is no being, meta physical or not, that can decide whether or not we deserve to live. With that being said, I believe that the human race has the right to TRY to live. Though many of the things that our race has done can be seen as simply decreasing the amount of time we exist, we at least deserve to keep going until we no longer exist. I am, of course, going by thought process that we are simply animal. Try looking at it this way, an animal species will continue to strive for survival despite any hardships it may face. Now before anyone claims that we deserve to die out because we destroy our environment, other species, upon reaching and/or bypassing their population "cap", completely ruin their local ecosystem.
Long story short, we deserve the same fate as any other species. To prolong our existence until we eventually go extinct.

Okay existentialism and nihilsm are two seperate things, nihilism is not a branch of existentialism, but that being said existential nihilism is a branch of nihilism.

From Wikipedia(under Nihilism):
Existential nihilism is the belief that life has no intrinsic meaning or value. With respect to the universe, existential nihilism posits that a single human or even the entire human species is insignificant, without purpose and unlikely to change in the totality of existence. The meaninglessness of life is largely explored in the philosophical school of existentialism.
