The worst thing you ever ate...

So what's the worst thing you ever had to eat (not counting the stuff you refuse to eat)?
For me, it was... Turkey Tails... deep fried in reused animal lard. Just one of the more horrible days of my childhood when the family didn't have much money and we had to eat what we could get...

Blood sausage, or Morcilla as it's known in my country. Good God, that was awful. Don't really know how people like that to be honest, but hey different tastes for different folks.

Expired beef..... not a good experience :/ It being a little off color should have given it away though xD

A cockroach which somehow found its way into my sandwich. Just threw up all over the classroom and came down with stomach pains so severe that by the end of the week I lost 10 pounds.

beets. I think a cockroach would taste better(provided it was cleaned of dieases and maybe smoked)

Mauby.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, it is a drink made with boiled Mauby bark(buckthorn tree), aniseed, fennel and other spices.
It is bitter. And shudder every time I smell it. And since I cannot stand aniseed or fennel, it is even worse.

I think that it might have been you, because when I ate it, it tasted slimy and cold. it made me gag as soon as I tried to taste it.

O_O so you'd risk your life for $120? If I ever find myself owning a mine full of highly radioactive ore I'll call you. :)
In all seriousness, where'd those maggots come from. I've seen Bear Grylls and the Survivorman eat some and they apparently didn't get sick...
