Classy got to pick the theme for this month, and he says it is...
*Iron Chef Announcer voice*
SHELLFISH!
What counts as shellfish? Obviously seafood that has shells, duh, but here is a list of some other water-dwelling creatures you can use:
Here's a recap of the rules:
Contest officially starts 00:00 PST (GMT-8) on April 1, 2011 and ends 00:00 PST (GMT-8) May 1, 2011. No entries will be accepted after that time. Voting starts whenever I wake up on that day and will last for five days, after which we will announce the winner. Winner gets mad props, rep from me (and from others?) and the chance to choose the month after next's theme (April winner chooses for June).
Good luck, and get cooking!
Nekohime is mildy allergic to crustaceans but is entering anyway. Lol.

Mod Note: As usual, stickied for the month of April, unless the top management decides otherwise.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
Getting back on topic, some seafood taste better while eaten raw, at least from what I have heard.

Most go well with sushi, actually. Sea urchin roe is especially good, but that's way too expensive. WHY AM I SO POOR... I WANT SOME NOW. T^T

Alright - quick question...
I am having trouble finding any actual shellfish in the supermarket (and I have no idea where else to get the stuff...), but I have found some "crab sticks", though I think this is probably imitation crab meat... However, it is cheap and moneys is real tight.
Is that al-right, or do I have to keep on looking for the genuine article?

Hmm, let's just say it counts. It's got "crab" in the name, after all, lol.

Your better off buy the can crab or tub of lump crab. Fake crab is pollack with crab flavorings... which i eat since i need the omega 3 before the sun rises and i have to fast for forty freaking days.
