When you download a program as expensive as something made by adobe (I am assuming you downloading a program from adobe by what I'm reading) they tend to have certain ways to find out if your using a pirated copy of the program they so vigorously spent time and resources creating.
Usually if the person who takes on programs like these are very good otherwise the people who download from them would all be caught and then they would be shunned and ridiculed for their inability.
What you have is instructions to block communications between the program and the creators of the program, hence this long list of local host and etc.
I'm really not going to explain it further since I dont want to encourage pirating software.

Clearly the group whose release you downloaded doesn't know how to properly crack a program.

We shouldn't be talking about downloading 'Linux ISOs' here lest we want Fakku to get sued at a later date.

Well, yes. But generally if the process involves more than plopping an executable into a directory, it has failed its simplicity factor. As far as I am aware, no Adobe products have protection that warrants exceeding the aforementioned simplicity factor, which leads me to believe that the release group may be incompetent.
Also, talking about pirated products won't get Fakku in trouble. Posting links to some may get a bit hairy, but our dear site creator has a pretty good defense against that.
