Torrenting an installer to a game you legally own.

Title basically. I'm talking in instances where, you originally paid for a working copy of your game (CD, DVD, or whatever else), but now the physical installation media has become damaged beyond working condition (disk breaking, too much scratching, etc.). But you still have the legal authentication code (CD-Key, product key, or any sort of authentication that you legally paid for) that is required to legally run and play the game; online and/or offline.
My question in this scenario is this: Is it illegal in this kind of circumstance to torrent an installer for your game for the sole purpose of re-installation? I mean, you're technically still using an authentication method you legally acquired, so I would assume this isn't something that copyright holders would frown upon, but I'm not 100% sure.

If you mean you bought some box for a game with it inside, it even is possible you can download for free from that game official website the installer.
Some/most of those games just need an on-line purchase to obtain a legal authentification code.
