Training flexibility?

Lately, my thighs and especially my groin musculatory have been an issue when performing exercise of different kinds. I would feel tearing-types of pain at the groin and occasional cramps in the upper leg areas. Is there like, a way to actually train the hip and the groin area for flexibility? I'm sorry if this sounds weird, I'm also kind of unfamiliar with the english terms. If anyone got any advice I'd be grateful.

Sounds like you are being to aggressive with your training, slow down your training for a week just to a get the muscles to heal properly, as for stretching don't do static stretches instead try some beginners yoga (it might seem stupid).

Sounds like you need a few hip flexor stretches and yes as said above you need to slow it down. The most common groin stretch I use about everyday is squatting down and pressing your elbows against the inside of your knees making sure your feet are shoulder width apart. For hip flexor though go into a lunge position but straighten out the back leg. Keep your back straight and really sink into it. I do these stretches during Insanity 6 days out of the week.

I contacted my sister about it. She has ballet experience, surely she knows about this sort of stuff?
She forced me to take a break from training and gave me those skin-attaching heat patches, suspecting muscle ridification. Is that what you call that in english? Whatever.
A week later I can do splits again, haha. Amazing. Apparently warmth is really good for muscle relaxation!

Yea, those patches are awesome (really hard to find them where I live anyway).
