Trying Something New
0
Lately i've been very bored. so i started looking for something new to occupy my time. i'm trying slinging. it's a lot harder than i thought it would be. so far making the slings is more fun than useing them, but as i get better, i'm sure that will change.
i'm always looking for something new to try. what are some things you are doing? or things you are thinking about trying?

I have been trying to get around to personalize my Facebook account and start using the whole website. I think it would be a good device to reconnect with people and maybe have a few debates. May sound like a waste of time and it probably is but then again, what isn't?
Another thing I've been getting in to for almost a whole year is chess.

I'm always on the search for new and under under appreciated music. Apart from that, I've been studying for my G.E.D.; searching for new games, work, and making music.
I also have to learn basic Swedish sometime.
If you want something new to try, I'm going to humbly suggest Skateboarding. I don't have a skate park, or even pavement to skate anymore, but maybe you might like it.
You don't have to do a benihana, you can just relax and learn how to skate.

I'm starting to get interested in Android theming. My phone is an Android but I would prefer an Android tablet.

I love going with friends to try new types of food. Hell, maybe only one (or none!) of us knows anything even vaguely about it prior, but it's an adventure: split some dishes and get ready for a food adventure!
That, or pick up a book/article you usually might not read, bu somehow piques your interest even slightly. You may learn a lot.

Recently custom made t-shirts piqued my attention.
Trying out how to do photo-emulsion shirt screen printing, thankfully there are a lot of articles related to said subject in instructables.
Maybe someday I'll buy a professional fabric printing machine designing shirts and print out some original dakimakuras.
Can be a nice side-line business too.

When I stop wasting my time playing video games I plan on becoming better at Photoshop.
I still can't get the hang of using that fucking pen tool.
Then I'll try coloring using Photoshop as well.
My main goal basically is to draw and color some characters. If not draw then just color.

I'd like to take up music, but there is basically no instrument that I do not want to learn and I cannot choose.
Learning how to compose would be good to, because I'd occasionally come up with stuff- but am unable to translate that onto paper.
I'd also like to go skydiving, but all my friends are too chicken to go with me, and I'm sick of flying solo.

Trying to not hate Vocaloid. I've been pretty prejudiced to Vocaloid fans before and I'm trying to get past that, so yeah for the past few hours I've just been listening to Vocaloid stuff seeing if there's anything I like. Some of it's good but I still don't get it.[/h]

Lots of good ideas here.
some other things i've been meaning to try are brewing and distilling my own alcahol. and growing some of the ingredients for them.
i also have been meaning to start refinishing old, beat up furniture to sell for a profit. i've done several pieces for friends and family, but only for materials cost, no labor or profit. i have the skill*, and some old furniture, but i lack the motivation.
for those interested in discovreing new music, check out this thread.
*about ten years ago i refinished a desk for a guy. when he saw it, he asked where i got a piece of glass that big. i think it took me a week just to do all the coats of clear to get it 1/4in thick. [/h]

I know the exact skate deck I want, I just need the money to ship it over from the US and then buying the wheels aswell. :)
