The rest of the people who watched (at least the fair ones) would agree with me tat Rua was ROBBED.
I don't really post a lot, I'm more of a lurker type but the Rua-Machida fight just pissed me off.
I gave Machida one round, the 4th and maybe, just maybe, I could give him the 1st ( just a bare maybe) but still that would have been 2 rounds to Rua's 3 but MACHIDA WON by UNANIMOUS DECISION 3-2. What the fuck happened? Did the Judges give the 2nd round to Machida as well?
COnsidering how unbelievably close rounds 1 and 2 were, the right thing to do (IMO) would have been to give each fighter the benefit of the doubt and call those two rounds even (i.e. give each fighter 1-1) still the end result would and should have been the same RUA by UNANIMOUS DECISION 3-2. Or if the judges awarded more points to effective aggresion, RUA WOULD HAVE WON by UD 4-1
But then again, maybe the Judges saw something that the TV viewers didn't because I didn't see anything excpet for Rua handing Machida his first defeat.

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised by the decision as well. I guess all those leg and body kicks didn't count....

Yeah, Shogun got robbed that decision. I hear the rematch will be set for 108, but it isnt concrete yet. I know the scoring has been rediculously varied for this fight, but when I saw it live I had it 4-1 for Shogun. Havent been able to see it a second time to see if my opinion changes on any of the rounds, but Im sure no matter how I cut it Shogun was the winner.

Who knows? maybe they'll do a TUF season with those two as coaches which would end in a big mid-year card (like Bisping Henderson)
