Virginity

I don't believe in virginity.
More precisely, I believe someone's purity/worth is irrelevant to whether or not they've had sex. Not just in the context of sexuality, but in a greater meaning as well.
My evidence: FAKKU!
The virgins on this site are anything but pure.
Evidence #2: that person you were shocked to find out had ever touched another person's private parts because they're so fucking innocuous about everything.

Hmmm.... good point.

Was virginity really something to be considered PURE? And here i thought every man was all too willingly to lose it when the right partner walks by.
It was never the issue of purity, less of it being a social misconception.
Also, does this topic really amount to a seating at SD?

Well, since men are all too willing to lose their virginity, that is why it's considered pure for women I believe. Women are sexual beings as well, and apprently feels greater pleasure than men (I wouldn't know, I'm a guy). So women that resist these feelings or do not know of them, at least explicitly, are considered pure.
I don't think men were ever considered pure, only working to become pure by God or something.

Well, not all virgins are pure. Some of them have impure thoughts, or impure actions.
Purity doesn't depend if you are virgin or not.
Purity is from within.

I completely agree Randumb,
I've never felt 'pure', before or after having lost my virginity.
I simply am.
Also evidence #1 best evidence ever.

Also, mentally there might be impure thoughts (but people wouldn't know if you don't do actions that show it), but I think the ultimate "impure" phyical action is losing your virginity.
Sometimes I have thoughts of suicide, murder, rape, etc. That doesn't mean I did those things, nor does it mean that I am a horrible killer/person. (Not that I am not a horrible person because that's for you to decide with your opinion)

Well, i think there are two things to point out. what the majority recognizes as purity is PHYSICAL purity, while we're debating on physiological purity. 2 completely different things.
1. True purity (physiological) is non-existent (unless you're 4 years old{even then its questionable}). Everyone at some point will experience some type of urge to do "evil" things. The thing is what can be completely categorized as "evil", does it vary by culture or is it simply universal?
2. Physical purity is sometimes the test of devotion to one's belief and religion eg Islamic women. Though this purity is very very rare in this era (i think). As for guys wanting virgin gfs, i think it is the feeling of popping a cherry?(not sure, still physical virgin T-T). IDK, but imma tell you this, i want a virgin gf :3

I believe that so called "purity" is simply a religious context taken too far.
We are animals. Albeit very smart ones, we're still animals. We have a biological need to have sex and spread our seed. Humans are not monogamistic by nature. We lust for the opposite sex virtually every moment of every day. A term as loose as purity is without natural foundation. In fact, it almost goes against nature. Keeping to only one partner is a personal choice, but it is given an unhealthy importance that creates unrealistic standards.

No one's a virgin cause the world screws us all.
But on a serious note the idea of being "pure" do to being a virgin comes from the bible Exodus 22:16-17 and Deuteronomy 22:28-29. Basically girls are viewed as a object to be sold and are worth less when used.

I'd agree, OP.
The only social use the construct of virginity has now is to determine whether one has had sexual contact, which can be a fact used to then test for STD/STIs.
It should no longer really carry any moral connotation; even biologically, there is no one enforcable standard (as hymen tearing can occur outside of sexual activity, and for males there is no way to determine).

When it comes to human nature, unless the person was forcefed a pack of lies from their childhood about sex being taboo, there's no such thing as purity.
The concept of virginity is just about whether or not they've had sex. As in, PONOS in VAGOO. Hymen tearing can occur outside of sex, and for men there's no way to tell. If you ask me, virginity is purely a technical concept. (If that's the right word for it? I'm tired, can't think straight)

Meh it's all about connotation, whereas virgin by definition would be something pure and untainted, the use of it to mean one who has not had sex conditionally means they take initiative and sex up their hand.

About the topic, virginity /= purity, and this has been proved a long time ago, because 'vrginity' is based in if you had coitus or not, but I think 'purity' is a very different thing...

If i remember right George Carlin said this:
When you go to heaven you get all your things back what you lost. Pencils, keys, matches, wallets, withour cash of course like on earth. BUT not your virginity, because you were in such a hurry to get rid of it in the first place.

What if you lose it when you're super old? Were you in a hurry?

First i doubt noone is a virgin when he or she is over 50 atleast. Second since you got rid of it in old age, you still were in a hurry.
