Voice acting... As a career?

I'm pretty confident in saying that the vast majority of you here watch anime and other animated shows and grew up watching the classics, such as DragonBall Z and Cowboy Bebop. Not having the option to watch subs, we grew up on the dubs.

So the question I ask is, has anyone here been interested in pursuing voice acting professionally?

This has been a career I've been chasing after for quite some time now.

You have to goddamn be born with the gift i believe

well i was in drama club in my high school years and the things that i learned about casting is not easy doing it.ypu have to feel about the character's characteristic and feeling it right,have to train your throat so when you read the lines your voice didn't change it's tone mistakenly.

sometimes dubbing/voice talent is pretty hard because we have to express by voice.

I've always wondered how it was to voice act. Though I can't imagine you get a lot of a pay. Also it doesn't seem like a full time job, more a commission.

I've wanted to try it...

I used to work with this guy named Tony. he could do imitations of everyone else we worked with(plus many more). he was so spot on he acctualy fooled me a few times into thinking someone who wasn't on that specific job, was on the site. i told him he should look into it, but i don't know if he ever did.

I enjoy messing around, like with Rozen Maiden Abridged (hell yeah I started that-and the first episode will be up soon)

I actually have been looking into voice acting. I've been told by multiple people that I have a nice voice and should go into being a DJ. But I'm a huge fan of Laura Bailey so I'm leaning more towards voice acting.

I was looking for sites that post voice acting auditions for hentai just a couple of days ago. Couldn't find any. Anyone know where I can look? I mainly want to be a voice actor to produce really good English dubs. I saw Stepmother's something or other just last night and I felt even more determined to do it. My voice isn't the best but I think I would like to help with English releases.
